Guest guest
Hi, Terry. Still waiting for genetic testing results. Unfortunately they are not going to be as absolute as I'd like them to be, but hoping to get some answers. In the mean time I go back to see the electrophysiologist on the 22nd. We will see what the next step is. It's day to day for me, with all days having heart activity. Some are worse than others. I'm thankful for the ones where I'm not stuck on the sofa all day. I struggle daily to put my will in charge of my emotions, trying to not let it drag me down. Josh has started having anxiety. <sigh> I suppose it was to be expected. On top of all that's going on with me, he has been dealing with ongoing pain from a car wreck he was in. He was rear ended on the freeway and his neck and back were injured. Not horribly, but enough to cause constant pain. He's being treated, but just dealing with it all is wearing him down. But, we are working at putting those things back in place that he learned when he was seeing his therapist, while trying to find a way to get him back up there to see him. I've noticed his OCD creeping back in, in places. Not with rituals, but with worried and thoughts. I'm hoping and praying it doesn't get as bad as it's been in the past. I don't think I could deal with that right now. As we all know it takes all you have to deal with OCD when it is out of control. I just don't have much left to deal with anything right now. So, it's day to day here with us. I've been coming in occasionally, to read, to try to keep up with the group and see how people are doing. How are you doing, Terry? Sounds like you are pro-active with the OCD, which is awesome. Hugs, BJ > > > > > > I'm sure you're all aware by now( " aware " , ha ha,) that this is the first OCD awareness week. I was wondering if any of you had anything planned. The OCF website has offered some suggestions. Just wanted to check in to see if anyone had anything interesting to offer. I have recently begun to put together a parent/child support group and have reached out to another local support group. Maybe by next year we could have a fund raiser in place. > > > Terry > > > > > >

Guest guest
Ha! I'm with you, Terry. I like the waning part too. lol Sorry to hear your daughter is having some thoughts. The OCD is relentless, it seems. I pray she is able to work though them. No matter that I know it is a life long disorder. And no matter that I know it WILL come back. It still has the potential to feel like I've been sucker punched when it does. Although this time, I think it is mostly just stress, since there are no thoughts attached. Then again, I could be wrong. That's a question for the therapist on Monday, I suppose. Took him to the doc and got a different anti anxiety med yesterday, in case he has another really bad day. We'll see if he needs to use it. It's one day at a time here. Thank you for the encouragement. ) Hugs, BJ > >Hi BJ, > Positive thoughts your way. Stay strong. Good luck with the appt. tomorrow. > Josh will be okay. He has all the tools. My daughter is also experiencing thoughts she's getting stuck on now that she's back at school. Nothing surprising, but OCD tends to terrrorize regardless, right? She's fighting back hard and sounds much stronger than when we tried the college thing two years ago.Good therapy really is the key. Even when they are in stressful times, they have some power. > This is the waxing part of the disorder I guess. I like the waning!! > Clare and I are both trying to get more involved in advocacy. Seems to help to take the attention off ourselves all the time. > Stay well <3 > Terry
