Tell your doctor. When we needed the same thing after my husband's hip replacement, his doctor switched him to another prescription pain medicine for a VERY few days.

my own opinion ... the second med. masked the symptoms of coming off the original med.

[DownSyndromeInfoExchange] Question on Pain Killers

Hi Everyone,

I would like to wean Sam off his narcotic pain killer he has been taking since his hip surgery since it causes his oxygen level to drop and constipation. I know Tylenol is not good for children with Down syndrome, what is a good option??

Sue Mayer

Mom to Sam (10) with Down syndrome, Brain Injury, Apraxia, Dysphagia, Respiratory/Immune Issues, Bi-Lateral Conductive Hearing Loss and now Perthes or as I like to say “Yada, Yada,Yada”

Just be careful supplementing with oral glutathione, as it can also cause yeast. Transdermal glutathione is usually better tolerated and absorbed. There are also some broccoli supplements on the market these days that help promote glutathione production. -Crystal
