Hi:

I don`t know if this has been mentioned before in the group but, since it has helped my son, I will post it anyways.

My son , 5 years old, has a lot of difficulty with fine motor skills, and holding the pencil to draw is very difficult for him. Up to now he was able to draw very uneven circles, make horizontal and vertical lines (going from dot to dot, of course not straight lines) and that was about it. When given a paper to draw he would just scribble on it in a very desorganized manner. He does color figures trying (not able yet) to respect outer lines, limits.

Yesterday was the first day of school after the holidays for (5 years old) and the teacher showed me this new pencil that she had gotten form Amazon to try it with him. Honestly I did not make much of it. When I came back to pick him up, she had a very big smile and told me to come in to see s work. Her words were "As God as my witness did this all on his own, I did not help at all". made two drawings in different pages, very similar drawing that he called a "Cow" (his favorite animal). The drawing is a big oval, with vertical lines as legs, a tail, an eye and one of them has 2 horns (It looks more like a cricket ) but they are very similar and they show that this was what he was intending to draw.

Needless to say I am extremely happy with the improvement. I do believe that all our practice on the boad with chalk and other things have helped but maybe the pencil with an easier grip, in a way that he can control it better has also make a big difference.

Today again, he made a drawing that is not only scribbles on a page.

Following the link to Amazon for anyone that maybe interested.
