Guest guest
If you could watch a complete repeat of a TV election results show, for an election in the past, would you? and would your TV channels broadcast such a thing? Oh well, it may be soon, unless the flu gets us first, that you could do this on the web? Download a whole election results show from the past. But already it sometimes happens here, on the BBC Parliament channel, a free-view satellite channel. Yesterday, which was an annual public holiday, they showed a rerun of the 1979 election, when Mrs Thatcher first got in, succeeding Callaghan. 15 hours! and I watched most of it. Just took a 2-hour break for a shop errand, when they were at the morning lull in the results. ( I may have mentioned choosing not to have a TV, but cheating is possible. I make care visits approx every 10 days sustaining the semi-independence of my living parent in her old folks' place. So this was a rare occasion of need to claim TV access in return for it. ) I would watch an election from an era of drama and turbulence, as this was. Not watch one that was an ordinary dull 2-party affair at a time of not much going on, or of the same party having another in a long run of wins. Not watch one from an era before my time that old folks use as a stick to pick on the young. This one was within my memory, so a nice riposte to that type of thing.
