Guest guest
Yea! I found someone who went there. I totally understand that OCD is not curable. I only want her to learn the skills she needs to cope with her OCD and subsequent anxiety to get her through life. If learned well, the knowledge is priceless, from what I understand. We do not have therapy for OCD anywhere here in El Paso, which is the reason I am looking at a center like Remuda. I like the fact that they are christian based and that it is the closest one to our home. It makes the traveling much easier. I'm sure the other facilities are wonderful as well, but there was something about Remuda that seemed very nuturing. They also claim to treat the whole person as opposed to just the disorder. Did you find that to be true? I would love to talk with you about it, if you wouldn't mind. Here is my phone number if you would like to call me when you can. If I can't talk, you can leave a message and I will return your call. That is, of course, if you don't mind talking to me. Where do you live, if I may ask? Debbie > > My son was at Remuda for 63 days, 2/09-4/09. He made great progress and is a lot better than when he was admitted. They make it very clear during the parent visits not to expect your child to be 'cured' when they are discharged. I was very pleased with their program and staff. I even talked to Dr Wall before my son was admitted. The other option according to my son's therapist is the treatment center in Wisconsin. Very similar to Remuda, less in cost and more experience. Remuda is Christian based and the reason it was right for us. > My son is 14 and is still going to therapy and is on meds. He has a long way to go. I decided on Remuda because he was confined to our home and it was an 'intervention' point as someone else stated. > > > > >
