Hi Sandy, yes I'd like to read your updates on how she progresses with the

homeopathy and with any therapy and how the school stuff goes. Be interested to

hear what the school psych thinks after the eval too, update us on that. I'm

glad her anger has stopped, good sign she's more chatty now! A little bit back

to normalcy! Will the homeopath add something if needed every few weeks, any

type schedule (guess it depends on what still needs targeted)?

Hi,

I just thought I would share that we are trying homeopathy with my 16

year old daughter who has been diagnosed variously as having

aspergers, OCD, sensory problems, anxiety, depression, extremely

gifted. She did not respond well to medication (and I prefer not to

use it also). We are about one month into working with a really

wonderful homeopath who has 8 children herself and has been through

some very tough stuff in her own life. She is a classical homeopath

trained by Luc DeSchepper, one of the best homeopaths in the US.

Classical homeopathy uses only one remedy at a time and the choice is

based on the individual patient's symptom picture. No drugstore

combination remedies and no herbs or supplements.

My daughter's OCD focuses on touch and she does a lot of hand

washing. Does a lot of avoidance behavior so has a very limited life

at this point. She is enrolled in cyber school but unable to complete

assignments. We were considering residential treatment for her but as

she is also adopted and has some issues with that, I really wanted to

try to avoid sending her away unless we have no other choice. A month

ago, she was very angry and yelling at me daily. This first month of

using homeopathy, she has stopped the anger and is much more chatty

and wanting to talk. She is still very OCD, very limited and stuck

with severe sleep problems. If you don't mind, I would like to share

monthly with you on how this is progressing with her. I know this is

a different approach, so thought some folks might be interested in

hearing how it goes with her. It is a slow process...

We are still searching for a really good therapist in the Reading,

town, Lancaster or Philadelphia area as well. My daughter is a

very tough cookie for a therapist to work with and so far she has not

connected well with anyone. We did try one therapist from the OC

Foundation website and he was unsure that she had OCD (which really

seemed ridiculous to me) but I think maybe the aspergers traits made

her present in a way that did not look typical to him - so I think

we need someone who understands aspergers as well as OCD. She is

going to have an evaluation by a school psychologist on Friday for

her IEP so maybe she can give us some help in that area. But if

anyone knows of a really good therapist in our area, I would be

interested.. .

Thanks so much! Sandy

Hi

Yes, with the first remedy we had a lot of email/phone conversations

to determine when best to repeat it (this method gives the remedy in

water and can be repeated often). Then we had our first formal

monthly appt. to see if the remedy needs to be changed. The homeopath

decided to increase the potency of the remedy since it still seems

the correct one but is not reaching the mental level of the symptoms

which often require a high potency.

Kerry - thanks so much for the recommendation. I will definitely look

into the AATC. It is about an hour from us but I think that could

work. Is the therapist doing CBT and E/R therapy with your daughter?

It's great that you are trying homeopathy! Just keep in mind that some times it

takes several tries to get the right remedy just as it does at the regular

doctor. Don't give up if the first one you try doesn't work as well as you'd

like.

Thanks, Laurie. This is our second homeopath and I feel much more

comfortable this this one. She is very good about explaining how

homeopathy works and we keep very close contact. I am finding how

important it is to find someone who is very good and who you feel you

have a good connection with. The whole process is so completely

different from allopathic medicine that it takes some getting used

to. I am also taking a homeopathic first aid class on line and that

has been a great help in understanding. And now I can treat the

family's bumps and bruises, cold sores, colds and flu myself with my

little kit of remedies.
