Guest guest
You can do the Lamze or other breathing techniques. You can also talk to her about being calm when she has the baby. Too many women scream and act a fool when giving birth, it doesn't have to be that way. Start talking to her about being calm and talk about the steps of labor and the level or contractions. Nothing can really prepare you for the pain, but let her know she can do it. Help her by talking about how to handle it before it comes. Use this time to talk about how to respond. Tell her yes it hurts, but that she needs to be calm and breathe.Practice with her. My daughter has PDD and when she needs to have blood drawn or whatever, I tell her we can do her favorite thing or buy something she likes. The Disney store is her favorite place, so we just keep talking through it until it is finished. Keep us posted on the pregnancy and how labor goes! Yes, they can give Dimerol. Something many woman do not know, is that they do not give you pain medication until your about 20 minutes away from delivery and then it prolongs your labor- always. Guest guest
She wouldn't be able to see the epidural going into her spine, and if she is in that much pain, she might be willing to let them do that. I didn't think I would be able to handle a needle in my spine either, but I definitely wanted it half way through labor. It did NOT slow my labor down, I wish it would have, lol, my son was anxious to get into the world. Anyway, when faced with the choice of labor pains or needle in the back, I ended up choosing the needle. She might too. You probably won't know until it happens, but it would be good to talk about all the possible scenarios well before the big day arrives. Good luck to you both! Guest guest
I'd be makin' Aimee watch every Discovery Health and TLC Channel live birth and c-section that I could get her to sit through at this point. The more she KNOWS, the better. If she wants to talk to me, tell me when to call her. I went into labor, pushed for 2 hours, and did not move the baby at all, and had to be taken in for a c-section. Twins were scheduled c-section. I had an epidural for one (that was the one where I was in labor, and I promise, I did not care one bit that they were sticking a needle in my back because I hurt too much in other places at that time), and a spinal for the other. Guest guest
This one we already do almost daily to expose her to all the things that could be to happen to her during delivery. I to feel it is of good for her to know the words and things that might take place for her to be aware of it all. She does seem to gain from them as like in the begin she to say I to want to delvier the baby by C section I to say no that is reserved for complications. She to say no I to want one until she to seen one being done on TV she to get so sick she to gagged and ran to the bathroom and then says she changed of her mind LOL and does not want one. I to had to explain that the C sections are reserved for complications and needs to get the baby out. Thanks for all the suggestions. My aimee does not need to see the needle but if she knows one is coming she reacts.
