For all of you who were curious about the Teen OCD camp that took place this

past weekend, judging from my son I would have to say that it was quite

successful. 7 kids attended; age ranges 13-17, 6 boys and 1 brave girl. 3

therapists as well as one special education teacher attended the kids. There was

hiking, a 40 foot tall ropes course and a 50 foot zip line. They camped out for

the 2 nights and cooked over a fire. There were bonding activities as well as

lots of therapy.

N really felt that he benefitted from the experience and he enjoyed meeting

other kids with similar issues. Since he is entirely secretive about his OCD, it

must have felt good to be able to speak candidly with peers.

They were out in the woods about an hour or two out of Seattle. Most of the kids

were local, but there was one teen who flew in from the east coast.

On Friday after we dropped the kids off there was a four hour seminar for the

parents to learn and talk with each other that was conducted by two therapists.

I would highly recommend the camp next year for any parents of teens. I will be

sure to give everyone the heads up when it is time for registration.
