Last week, Columbia University's epidemiology department published a study in the Aug edition of Molecular Psychiatry which basically " proves " the hypothesis of Pandas. They " infected " mice Pandas and guess what - the mice all developed nearly all the symptoms Colleen listed in her last post. These mice were " normal " beforehand. My son just underwent plasmapheresis at town last week, after a grueling year of battling this disease. It's still too early, but we do see signs of healing. But we had to fire doctors and stand on our heads before finding other doctors who were willing to help. Pandas is no longer a " theory " . It is a recognized medical/autoimmune disease that even our insurance carrier recognizes and it endorses plasmapheresis as a proven treatment (it does not consider it " experimental " ). If your therapist remains skeptical after you show him/her all the research, be assured that there are doctors who can and will help. It depends greatly on how willing they are to let go of old prejudices and embrace current research. I'll send you the info as soon as I get a break at work... > > please send me other information. I never looked into this until now, my therapist has not heard of this and is skeptical. I would like to look into it further. > Thanks, > Cristy > >
