Hi Mark;possibly all people, not just Aspies, may eventually give up on a certain area of life, if they ar e put down by others or meet failure repeatedly. Personally, I eventually gave up tryng to be social, BUT I still go to meetings and will speak up, I still work, and try to be polite.renaissanzelady

That was my experience. I tried reaching out to children my age, but I

was clueless on how to do so. After a while, and constant daily

bullying, I simply gave up and became self-centered. However, in my mind anyway, self-centeredness and selfishness are not the same.
