I feel like I just ran the indy 500. JUst got home, - the doc was an

hour late today.

Then he had spilled yogurt on himself at his lunch so he was scrubbing it off

himself while we were seeing him.

He said Jimmys eye is building undesired scar tissue inside. BUT he is extremely

impressed Jimmy has some vision....amazingly impressed- altho- he does not know

if he can save it due to the scar tisse. The forming scar tissue might create a

need for an additional very extensive surgery in addition to the one we already

have upcoming. <sigh> But it is healing OK and Jimmy can go back to school

tomorrow, just no gym and no " running around " and Jimmy must wear saftey goggles

round the clock at all times. No ifs ands or butts. I guess I thought the doc

would help us with acquiring appropriate safety goggles, but no. He did say

Jimmy can play trombone... " just don't blow too hard " HUH? And then doc was gone.

Again.

Come back in a month.

SO on way home, Buffy called me in the car and asked if she can go to her doc in

Chicago on Monday- so on Monday I am making the identical trip AGAIN. <sigh>

She also asked me if her and Ray should eat..I said yes, do go ahead..I am still

hours from home.....well, I just walked in and Buffy is attacking me cuz Ray is

sleeping and never did feed her after all. I got stuck cuz of some accident an

hour in Barrington, traffic was a total complete standstill.

Bekky is screaming cuz she just got home from school cuz she was being tutored

in chemistry again, so she is mad how long her school day was, so she is yelling

at me, too.

I got home and the mail was here and the bill from the outpatient eye clinic in

Chicago came....not the surgery and not the hospital, just the eye

clinic------it is $35,000. The bill for our local ER came and it was $300 and

the bill for one of the local opthamologists was $600. It is adding up and it

scares me. And add to that at least one more surgery maybe 2 more? And noone

knows if he will have vision in that eye?

The eye is all bumpy looking and I asked if after it heals will it look

" normal " ? The eye doc is not certain, - if not- he said he can do cosmetic

surgery to try to make it look better??????? <sigh> I feel sick. Sorta delayed,

maybe, but the eye doc seems to be giving me the bad news in tiny doses,

stretching it out.....he seemed more positive earlier on, and it is confuisng

becuz he keeps saying it looks GREAT and it is so great Jimmy has any vision and

thats a good sign, but then he trickles in these little bits and peices of

dubious comments. And he says wow I cannot believe Jimmy can see anything at

all.then he says we are not " out of the woods yet, this is a very grave injury

and situation "

I don't know about Jimmy.but I am wondering if " I " have the balls for this poor

child. Well, I guess if he does, then I do.but I want to scream, anyway. First

he was a stand out cuz of his leg braces that never did do any good.and now he

is a standout with his strange unpleasant scary lookng eye and his Secret Agent

Man glasses. (they are dark and wrap around) I wanted average kids not weird

kids who everyone knows cuz of strange things like this. And last thing the eye

doc said to Jimmy today was- stay away from BB guns. GRRRRRR. Jimmy was not near

a BB gun.

Doc knew that originally.

He just " forgot "

It has been a long day. Jimmy is excited about going back to school tomorrow.

But he was upset we got home so late he did not get to see any of his friends

today.

I am exhausted. And tomorrow, Ray has traffic court for his car accident AND a

VA docs appt for the same time....and somehow he is blaming me for it. Well, um,

I had nothing to do with his car accident, I did not even know about it.....and

I had nothing to do with any of his VA appts, I repeatedly TRIED to talk to one

of his docs when he was in the hospital with no luck.....so I had nothing to do

with any of it. And Ray is mad cuz he has traffic safety school Saturday

......well, I had nothing to do with THAT either. He chose to plead guilty to his

ticket for his accident and thats what he got. And Monday I get to do this long

long trip all over again.

Hey, if you want to run away and hide out at my place I won't tell

anybody! We'll eat cookies and watch Costner movies.

Hang in there, I know it has to be hard. We used to have " fend for

yourself night " when everyone who was old enough to at least make a

peanut butter sandwich got to make their own dinner. Seems like when

it rains it pours. I guess it's times like this that the Bible is

talking about when it says, " it came to pass " . Thank God it doesn't

come to stay!

Blessings to you and yours

Hey, that sounds like fun! Cookies are my passion! (truly and for real- mostly

baking them but also eating some)

We have had so many fend for yourself nites, LOL (I maybe should be embarrased

but I'm not) good thing my kids are old enough to manage...for me dinnertime is

mostly the social thing....My oldest specializes in spaghetti, my middle dtr

specializes in chili mac and hamburger helper, my son specializes in frozen

pizza, my husband would starve..oh well, too bad for him. LOL.

I keep waiting for it to be done passing.....that which does not kill me makes

me stronger, I am already Hercules. (groan LOL)

I took a much needed long nap this morning after I got the kids to school.

Maybe that will improve my outlook some.

Otherwise be watching for me....yum! cookies!
