Guest guest
This has been building for some time. When I was in high school in the late 1980's, there were already many guys who didn't bother to study because they were athletes. They knew that if they played well, colleges would snap them up and they'd get a free ride and all the girls. They were all also convinced that they would be the ones to make it pro. None of them did. But that's the thing: they all thought they were going to be pro sports players. They thought they'd be rich and have easy lives with everything given to them. Perhaps they weren't as brutal as the bullies and school yard boxers are these days, but they were what you might call the first generation of this phenomenon. The second generation doesn't seem to have any lofty goal to shoot for. They just want attention NOW and will do whatever it takes whether it means fighting or stripping. Its happening young too. A few years ago a friend of mine was having legal trouble, having been falsely accused of a crime. During the course of the investigation, it turned out that girls in particular were gaining popularity with the boys by having sex with them, on school grounds no less. How old? 11 and 12, maybe younger. Yes, it is a depressing society. I'm sure it is nothing new, however, just the cycle repeating itself. This time it is probably worse because of the mass media leading a rush to the lowest common denominator. Instead of making something of themselves by working hard, havingaccomplishments and becoming famous, they would rather act like moronsfor a very short time in the hopes of infamy. Truly depressing societywe live in isn't it?Kim Need a job? Find employment help in your area.
