Guest guest
My 10 year old son is currently doing nuerofeedback. Anyone try it yet? I was curious to see if anyone had positive results. Thanks.
Guest guest
We did not try this - we did have amazing results with ERP (Exposure & Ritural Prevention). I emailed to the OCFoundation about Neurofeedback, and this is the response from Jenike - he is on the Scientific Advisory Board (and a really amazing, hopeful guy) " This has been thrown around for over a decade. There is NO controlled evidence that this is helpful for OCD. Since the machines can be bought quite cheaply now, many people are trying to make some cash on the side by saying this is a treatment for everything. Best wishes, " We are realistic about the fact that Meg's OCD will very likely be back, and are trying to use ERP every day to keep in practice. Once a child has gotten good at this, and is doing well, it does make for some funny momments in our home. She can see everyone's anxiety for what it is, and challenges us to step forward as well. I hope you find the right answer for your son, and wish you all the best in your search. It is a very personal struggle, and you should do whatever helps your family. My only advice would be that if you are not ALSO doing ERP, you should try to quickly add this in to your OCD plan. in NC > > My 10 year old son is currently doing nuerofeedback. Anyone try it yet?
