Guest guest
Hi,Have you looked into Pandas?Have you looked at the site www.latitudes.com?Also the boy from the Today show his mom wrote a book,Saving Sammy.Steph Subject: Re: New here...absolutely devastated To: Date: Friday, October 9, 2009, 8:41 AM Lord do I feel for you. My little girl has had episodes like this periodically since she was 4. She is now almost 8 and when recently she started hand washing we thought of ocd. We are waiting to see a pediatrician and a psychologist. No one here on P.E.I. seems to specialize in treating ocd. My family Doctor said she is normal....but I know my child. The pediatrician sent us forms to fill out and they were for adhd. I'm betting it will be a battle with the Doctors to take me seriously. Her symptoms come and go....usually around a cold. It is frightening. She gets voices in her head telling her to do bad things. She worries about accidents... like being hit by a car. She won't leave my side. She cries when she is not with me. She gets scared of her teachers. She worries about doing something bad that will get her punished. She washes her hands only at school. She has strong temper flares with me. She thinks swear words in her mind and thinks she will get into trouble. She says the voice in her head tells her to just die...that she is no good. She checks with me continually to be sure she is not in trouble. Worry worry worry. Then suddenly...it will all disappear. She returns to her old playful funny self. She is normally outgoing and hilarious. I wait for it to return...praying it won't. We are in limbo right now waiting for help. When her symptoms go away I wonder if I'm the crazy one....but when we are in the thick of these obsessions I am convinced there is something terribly wrong.
