Guest guest
I've been thinking about how to reply to this article for a while now. What I'll say is that in addition to the traditional reasons for bullying, now it is also being done for "15 minutes of fame." Bullies have been recording their attacks and posting them for a few years now and the trend is growing. They post these things because they know that they will be watched and they will get attention and praise from strangers on the internet. So, this bully got what she wanted: to be cruel and also to get her bit of fame. I think she is only going to be worse after this because she has learned that bullying gets her what she wanted and more. Of course, if these bullies were made to be on the receiving end of one of these videos, I don't think they would like it so much. Related to this is what is more common with girls. Reports are that a growing number of girls will strip and perform sex acts on their web cams. This is how they get attention and maybe make some money as well. By the same token, kids apparently use the cameras in the cell phones for much the same purpose. It looks like we are no longer sexualizing kids through the media, but they are doing it themselves because they lust for attention and have no moral compass because they aren't getting it at home and certainly aren't getting it at school. Then again, maybe they do get it at home, but they prefer the libertine alternative presented by Hollywood and the schools. In a message dated 3/9/2009 2:20:33 A.M. I have this forum and eight others to give responses in and only so much time, so I do not check for errors as often as I should.Administrator Need a job? Find employment help in your area.
