Guest guest
Tomorrow we move to college, UNC-Chapel Hill! Today I just have to pack all his clothes and then see what we might be able to take out of boxes that we bought him since they warned no cardboard in trash there (recycle) and don't want to have to carry boxes a long way back to car or something. Whew, I have spent so much $$ (and him a bit too) getting all this stuff. And note the *I* in I'm doing the packing, LOL. One last " mothering " thing I guess, though he doesn't seem as motivated as I am to get it done. I bought a couple bottles of inositol powder for him and packed that (something we used in past for his OCD) even though the last time we tried inositol it didn't help a bit. ( isn't on meds, refuses) So on Thursday I will be an " empty nester " with no children at home! Yes, a bit of celebrating perhaps but at the same time I'm so busy with my mom's estate stuff and getting her house somewhat clean (beginning Thursday - plus she was a hoarder so lots of clutter) so I can get it appraised for the estate...that I don't have time to relax much. Maybe later in September! I know I've got on his nerves a bit with some comments. Like I advised (made) him take a fan for college to have in his room. I told him between that and advising him to play CDs on his laptop, the noise would help his roommate NOT hear his OCD ( vents, gets upset with his bad thoughts). I think I care more about roommate not hearing than , but just doesn't realize how much I do hear when he's even down the hall from me behind a closed door. You all know I'll update on how things are going or rather how I GUESS they are going. 's not one to say his OCD is bothering him, won't really talk about it so I can't observe/hear once he's out of the house. Really, at times in past he has looked so bad, the expressions on his face, the upset, the anxiousness, sadness, sorrow.... I'm hopeful getting away from home might actually help? I know sometimes OCD is easier away from home like when people go on vacations, etc. single mom, 3 sons , 20, with OCD, dysgraphia and Aspergers
