Guest guest
I greatly dislike flying. Not only were some of my early flights very rough and made me sick, but I am also prone to airsickness. On top of that there is the idea of being in a thin metal tube hurtling through the air at insane speeds 30,000 feet above the ground. Lastly, there is the presumed guilt of terrorism of each passenger that tries to board a plane. The TSA people have almost always been rude to me and pulled me out for closer inspection. I think they would only be happy if everyone was totally naked, no carry on bags and all other luggage sent by post or not taken at all. I've never been on an ocean cruise, but I have been on harbor cruises and I do tend to get motion sick there as well. I think you are right about the family being wonky. Moving around the world is a huge decision. As I recall, Australia has some stringent immigration regulations, so they would have had to pass all of them. That wouldn't have been easy. Neither would be finding a place to live or find a job. One would think that someone, perhaps the father, would go there, spend a few weeks to line up a job and place to live, check the location and people, the schools, all of that, then decide about moving. Maybe he himself should have lived there for several months to see how it went. I agree, that the moves have really frightened the boy. Stability is gone from his life, but the trip itself would have been a fearful thing. A day or two in a flying tin can, then arriving in a strange land where everyone talks funny, the weather is different, even the seasons are backwards by the calendar. It was a lot of change for an adult, let alone a child. In a message dated 4/20/2009 1:34:13 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, no_reply writes: Sounds to me like is the brainiest of the whole bunch. Guest guest
Flying onesself is so much better. Getting my pilots licence has been very worth it. You aren't treated like a criminal. -=Russ=- I greatly dislike flying. Not only were some of my early flights very rough and made me sick, but I am also prone to airsickness.
