Guest guest
My son finally got diagnosed with OCD. Had to hospitalize him but that enabled us to get him a new doctor. His doctor changed his SSRI from Celexa to Zoloft and upped it to 100 mg. This has really helped. He said this med seems to treat OCD better. Before that we had tried upping the Celexa and saw no improvement. He currently has a compulsion with brushing his hair. I mean he gets into a trance and you have to physically take the brush away or he will get nothing else done during the day. Other than that his anger, explosiveness and obsessions seem better. He is able to handle disappointment without flying into a rage and destroying things. His skin picking and injuring himself on purpose seems to be better too. His doc also changed his mood stabilizer to Lamictal. He was on Abilify and we are slowly weaning him off of that. He was also diagnosed with ADHD and is on Focalin. School started last week and so far so good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Last year was awful! Just thought I'd share with you all.
