Guest guest
Hey Larry, Thanks for writing. Since you didn't answer my last mail I thought I must have said something wrong and didn't dare write to you again. As for my health, it's been a lot better lately, no more symptoms (or nothing really noticeable) since the beginning of this week. Maybe Homeopathy is starting to work or is it the placebo effect? I don't care as long as I feel good. Here the weather changed dramatically from late winter to full blast summer. I have had a few pbs with rash under my feet because of the sudden heat, plus I've had headaches for the last 2 days. It's an extra effort for my body to adjust to that sudden heat so I am very careful and don't go out in the sun if I can avoid it. Other than that, my next appointment with my Rheumy is next week followed by a new appointment with my homeopath. I am hoping my Rheumy will be ok with decreasing the Mtx some more. I don't see why he shouldn't since I am not doing too bad. I have been reading some of your posts and saw that you were having a horrible time. I am so very sorry for you, hang in there, and keep on searching other alternatives like native indian herbs. Have a great pain free week end Your friend, line Larry Brown wrote: Hey! line, just wondering how are you and how goes it?!? Haven't heard from you in awhile. Write to us when you can. God Bless!! Guest guest
Hey line, I am so sorry not to have answered that post and given you the idea I was angry or upset. I probably thought I answered. I have noticed that my mind (especially memory) is not quite as sharp as it used to be. I don't know if it is the drugs, disease, or combination. My wife accompanies me to the really important doc visits, etc. If this continues, i'll need an interpreter! LOL. It is very good to hear from you again. I though maybe you went on vacation to somewhere warm and peaceful. Sounds like it is plenty warm there. Here, it is the opposite (western North Carolina). Last week it was near 80 F. This week, it has been cloudy with some rain and highs around 60 with lows near 30-35. Quite a change. But, when we hit summer, we usually hit fast and stay long!! Glad to hear you are doing pretty well health-wise. My rheumy has started me down on Prednisone.....down quickly! I was at 60mg/day Wed. and now am at 20mg. I feel really " strange " . Had nightmares last night and woke myself up screaming!! That was a little bizarre! I hurt all over and am really tired and just feel " strange " . Can't explain it much better. Oh well, I always did say I had " ALIEN " DNA. LOL I have found some things about alternative meds. It is difficult to tell what is real and what is a scam. So much is fake. Again, i'm sorry I made you feel like you couldn't contact me. You are my friend and I miss you. Please post back. Take care! God Bless! Larry B. line Barbat wrote: Hey Larry, Thanks for writing. Guest guest
hey Larry! Glad you answered my post so fast! About Prednisone, it seems to me your Rheumy is a bit nuts! When I got off it myself, it took me ages to go from 60mg to 20mg, you got to take it nice and slow, man, that darn drug is addictive and it takes a while for your body to get rid of it. When my rheumy decided I should stop prednisone (my highest dose was 60 mg/day) it really took about a year to do it. A couple of times I started flaring again and I had to go back up the dosage again. I must admit it was really hard to be patient but it was really worth it. I really think you need to tell your rheumy it may be better for you to decrease the dosage much more slowly so you won't have the withdrawal effects, or at least not that bad. Boy how I hated Prednisone, especially all the side effects I had, I am so glad not to have to take it anymore. And even after I stopped completely, it took me about 6 months to get my face back, meaning my cheeks and neck were still swollen for a long time after I stopped. MTX was not all fun either, as I said before I lost a lot of hair at the back of my neck and a little bit on top but it was only temporary, I would have gone into depression if on top of all I had ended bald! Sounds superficial I know, but hey, I really freaked out at the time, because I didn't know wether the hairloss would stop or not. Anyway, I am looking forward to a healthier future, and am trying hard to stay positive and find solutions so that I will be a healthy mother to be! ;-) I know it is hard to be positive when you' re hurting so much Larry, this is why, I advise you and all the members of this group to keep on looking for solutions, whatever they may be, to relieve some of the pain or why not all of it. Tai chi, Qi Qong, herbal medecines, acupuncture, seem to have worked for me or at least helped me tremendously, it's worth giving it a try when you're desperate for some relief !!! Of course watch out for scams, but why not try something different. Anyway, this is my philosophy, not to be happy with the minimum and try to find solutions for a better life. I kind of sound like a commercial, don't I ? Ha, Ha, Ha, :-) Anyway, take care of yourself Larry, and have a great week end! I am going swimming at the public swimming pool right after work tonight, that is in about 30 minutes. I think soft exercises help as well, keep your joint moving! Love and hugs, your friend line Larry Brown wrote: Hey line, I am so sorry not to have answered that post and given you the idea I was angry or upset. I probably thought I answered.
