Her SLP did it as she entered the school system so she could get more effective services. The therapy for apraxia requires more one on one and more repetition. At 12 years old much of the apraxia is resolved, however she is still very difficult to understand. In multi syllable words or long sentences her sounds get reversed or even inserts new sounds. She has to slow down and deliberately sound out words.
