Guest guest
Hey Melt Glad you got to go camping. It is a pastime I truly love. We had always backpacked and hiked into camp carrying our gear. In fact...when I first showed symptoms I was returning from a 3 day hike in the Mark Twain National Forest. That will be 7 years ago on the 13th. I have had a rough time, but my family has figured out a way for me to still enjoy camping. We had a huge garage sale this year and sold all our gear. (Broke my heart) But the profits went towards our new (used) CAMPER! I would get so sick in the heat that my hubby even tried to put A/C in our tent. LOL Anyway, we finally broke down and got a little camper. I thought I would hate it, but you know, at least I am there with the family and not holding them back because I am too sick to go. This way when I get too hot - or sore - or need a nap, I just go inside for a while and lie down. My husband put in a/c, my friend sewed thick curtains to make it dark if I need to sleep, and we now have a fridge for the Kineret! (Hated those soggy boxes in the cooler) Looks like I am making the most of what spoons I have, huh? Glad to see somebody else well enough to get out this spring. My daughter is going to summer camp tomorrow for 13 days and her father and I are headed to the lake for 4 days to celebrate 13 years of wedded bliss.....well 13 years of marriage. The girls did some yard sales and beadwork and crafts, campfires and yummy meals and all was fine. I do get a bit down and depressed from such a long holiday camping but did have fun. I'm sorry to return to some of you having such trials and wish you the best and also good news such as from Rob. Well family I shall be around, much love, Melt
Guest guest
For me camping is a huge stress reliever and I've caught myself going many hours past when I would normally take medicine because I feel so good that I forget... There's something about sitting around a campfire or staring at the river or lake with no worries that does wonderful things for me. Now only if I can figure out how to make money while I'm doing nothing staring at a campfire :-) Earlier after a stressful day at work I went and sat in a porch swing at the boat club and watched the sunset over the Mississippi River while the kids played and threw rocks in the river. I scouted out a cool camping spot right on the bank of the river that I'm going to try to get back to this weekend for a quick escape with the kids. It's already relaxing me just thinking about my camping trip this weekend... Later, Camping Hi all; We went camping for four days and had a lot of fun.
