Guest guest
I think it was Dr. Dobson who said, when a child gets to be 10 years old you put them in a big wooden barrel with a hole in it. When they turn 13, put a cork in the hole. Said with tongue firmly in cheek, but boy can all us who have lived through parenting a teen relate to this! It's amazing how dumb we get when they start junior high, and how smart we suddenly get when they are out on their own, and when they have kids we get downright brilliant! At that age they are all about me, me, me. Anything we ask them to do will be, most of the time, (in their opinion) dumb beyond belief. There are exceptions to the rule. In my case, one out of six kids did not go through the Terrible Teens. The kids are now 29, 28, 27, 26, 25, and 18. That includes the two step kids- just because I divorced their dad doesn't mean I divorced them. ) Jane
