I didn't even think about it as being a stair climbing workout but it sure was, thanks for noticing that, !

Yoga toes... I think they'd aggravate the situation because of the inflammation of the nerve. Anything pressing on the toes aggravates it, including when I kneel down with my weight on my toes and with my heels lifted (I found that out Saturday night after I did that a lot on Saturday). Even the weight of my sheets & blankets can make it hurt so, thanks anyway. I thought about those too but then ruled them out as soon as I thought about the pressure on the toes that they would bring with them (and cringed)!

I see you also did stairs today :)

Thank you for the compliment :) and also for the butter analogy! What does your podiatrist think of yoga toes? Might be worth a try? There's an "as seen on TV" version that I'm sure is just as good that's cheaper. They really help me, they are basically just big toe separators. Our feet are crunched up in shoes all day and these help realign everything. Not sure if it would help or aggravate your situation but they might be worth asking the podiatrist about?Hugs!

OMG, i have been having a pinching pain in my right foot for

about 3 months... i thought that it was my work shoes. because

i am so short, i was going up on my toes alot (like doing calf

raises) to see the top of the weigh scales in the deli. that

didnt hurt but when i would put on different shoes and go walking

outdoors with chinook, i would get a horrible pain.

so i changed my work shoes and really try not to raise up on my

toes anymore. i also noticed the same thing you did about

kneeling down with heels lifted... that also makes my right

foot/toes hurt like heck! your comment on that has really made me

sit up and take special notice!!

im also always adjusting the bed sheets around my feet so they

are not tight and my toes are not forced to curl over. also, im

always adjusting the tightness of my shoes, they have to be just

perfect or i will get pain. ugh!!!

i will keep trying hard to not aggravate this. luckily i do

have a couple of pairs of shoes that seem ok... there are some

other styles that i just cannot seem to wear anymore (like flat

bottomed skate type shoes).

I've been told to make sure my shoes have wide toe boxes and NOT to wear heels at all. I can wear any other shoes as long as they are supportive and have room for my orthotics (can't go without those). If you get a burning pain between your 3rd & 4th toes waking you up at night, get to a podiatrist as soon as you can (I wish I had a long time ago).

wow thankyou nancy. i get the burning pinching pain but only if

i have abused the right foot/toes and then try to do a bunch of

walking on it. i dont feel it at night but i am mindful to keep

the sheets loose. thankfully i seem to have a very much milder

case... but i think i can imagine the pain that you have been

living with. how awful! it seems that as im aging things are

getting pinched up! my neck, upper back and now my foot. ugh!

anyway, i dont mean to go on about myself... i just wanted to

tell you that you made a light bulb go off in my head and now i

will be very very careful !!

I'm glad my whining has done someone some good (besides me, getting to vent sometimes)! :-)

Workout note: I have a feeling my FIRM floor lower body workout isn't happening today. I just got home from grocery shopping and then work a little while ago, ate lunch, now I have to get dinner prepared (and the kids will be coming home from school soon too) because we have a 7:00 meeting tonight at the HIGH SCHOOL for parents of incoming freshman!!! I can't believe I have a kid going into high school next year!!! If I feel like it after the meeting I'll do it but I've got boat loads of paperwork to catch up on too and I think that will win, I hate working out after 8:00 PM too. I'm taking 30 minutes to just yak on email and cruise the net then I'm off and running again.

Sounds like the FIRM Workout will have to wait - you have your hands full. Wow, a High Schooler?!

It did have to wait. I didn't get home until about 8:30, then it was time get the kids to bed and it was finally 9:30 and I was whipped. We were having computer issues too and I was frustrated with that so I just chilled with a book a while and went to bed.

Yeah, high schooler... so weird... so very weird. He has a 504 (was special ed and now has been "upgraded" to 504 to have modifications to school work as needed but not special ed services) so there's another meeting next week for parents of kids with IEPs (special education) & 504s that we'll go to also. They were talking about how intense high school is now and with the new Michigan curriculum requirements from the state how the kids have to have so many classes, etc. little room for electives... eek. I'm hoping the 2nd meeting will help me feel more comfortable with the support the school will be provide as needed. So far, our school district has been outstanding and I used to do a WW class at the high school so I know a lot of teachers and counselors so I'm confident they'll be very helpful again but I'm still intimidated, thankfully doesn't seem to be right now at least and I'm trying not to let him think I am.

No workout today either. I was working all morning on a big back log of paperwork (got it all done, now I can focus on only taxes tomorrow) then did my afternoon class, then saw my foot doctor, then came home and did dinner and kids then went to the computer store (had to replace the power cord and looked at refurbished computers). Now I just want to sit and be a blob. Might do the FIRM tomorrow as a break from taxes! Foot is better but still pretty messed up. Doc said the shots I'm getting now are really just more powerful kind of steroid, safe to keep doing for quite a while though. He put me on anti-inflammatory rx again and adjusted my orthotics again too, my whole foot is involved and so is the other one (heel pain from the orthotics needing to give more support) and I'm basically pretty messed up. This shot was back to wear the neuroma is between the 3rd & 4th toes and hurt a lot but not like the one in the arch. My foot is numb in the toe box right now, probably will be until sometime tomorrow and I have to pick up the rx tomorrow. Overall, things were improved this week but more heel & arch pain than before so hopefully the changes this week will bring only more improvement.
