Guest guest
I was determined to do something, anything, today too though and decided to avoid lunges (besides my quads are so sore, I'm shocked but loving it) and just did the 15 minute Easy Walk off Austin's walking workout and then the 10 minute stretch on the same DVD. I'm sorry your foot is still giving you so much trouble. I couldn't imagine! Good for you for pressing on and doing something. I thought about looking in to some other walking workouts. I've tried S. and I just can't get into her. Of course I know I couldn't either. lol Good job ! ~*´¨¸ *.• ´¸.•*´¨ ¸.•*¨ .•´ ¸ .*

Of course I know I > couldn't either. lol ive done one of denise's walking workouts (called 'indoor walk') and could not stand it !! you will not be able to handle it either, michelle. denise is just too much. the best part about the dvd was the stretch segment at the end, which was excellent. i kept the dvd just for that... maybe i would do the walk again some day but it is low on my list. for walking workouts, chris freytag has one that is ok... prevention walk yourself fit. ellen barrett has 'walk off belly fat'. madeleine lewis has 'get moving:walking for weight loss'. :*carolyn. Guest guest
I think I would go w/ Madeleine - I think hers is probably the most challenging! Guest guest
My favorite walking workout is Kathy 's Power Belt walking video. It uses the power belt and it's very good!Below explains it:Kathy PowerBelt Walking System ($80, with instructional video; , walkerswarehouse.com) Using a PowerBelt as you walk increases calorie burn by up to 64 percent, according to an independent study conducted at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Simply wear the padded, lightweight belt around your waist, grasp the attached resistance cable handles, and pump your arms in a swinging motion as you go. Guest guest
Dear ,One of the things that really helped me when my ankle was bad was kettlebells. You could even get away without doing lunges. You can keep your feet planted on the ground and have no impact. Squats, cleans and deadlifts all are so great for lower body, and swings are great for cardio -- again without impact, and while keeping the feet planted. I did all of those barefoot. I know I had a different problem. Healing thoughts, ! My foot woke me up last night, I think it might have been the lunges because of the forward motion and pressure on the toes but I'm not sure (I try to keep my weight back but I always wobble, I hate lunges with a passion). I was determined to do something, anything, today too though and decided to avoid lunges (besides my quads are so sore, I'm shocked but loving it) and just did the 15 minute Easy Walk off Austin's walking workout and then the 10 minute stretch on the same DVD. It wasn't much but it felt good just to do something. I've iced my stupid foot 3 times today for the first time in this journey. I kept saying I would then didn't but after last night I actually wanted to try it. If it were August, I'm sure I wouldn't mind so much but in February it is a bit more challenging to introduce anything cold to my body on purpose! We'll see how tonight goes. I go back to the doc tomorrow evening too, probably another cortisone shot. I'm behind on email and not trying to catch up right now, just wanted to post this anyway. Guest guest
Hmmm... I have a 10 lb. kettlebell... I've never used it but a kind friend gave it to me along with some workouts but I've been afraid to touch it! Right now, I'm in so much discomfort I can hardly stand but it is something to keep in mind for when I get past this season. My right foot, the one with the Morton's Neuroma, has gone into overdrive since 5 AM (it got better later in the morning then got worse again, I've had to take Tylenol 3 twice to deal with the pain) and then my left foot's arch started really aching earlier today and still does. I think it wants attention too! Actually, I'm probably walking strangely babying the right foot and ended up straining something on the left. I hope that's all it is anyway. I've been icing both off & on and will do so tomorrow too. My sweet 13 year old baby boy made dinner for us tonight though (first time ever! He asked if he could make a chicken stir fry and did it all himself and it was fantastic too) so I didn't have to stand to make dinner, that was really great. He asked if he should do it again sometime and I offered to let him make it (or anything else) again tomorrow night! :-) Anyway, thanks for the idea, . I will watch the workouts sometime and think about trying it out when I'm feeling better. I need to be able to get cardio without impact and I don't have a bike or access to a pool so this is something to definitely think about! Guest guest
You are so right to wait until that calms down.It sounds like both feet want a bit of time off. No fun to ice feet in the winter! What a great kid! Hmmm... I have a 10 lb. kettlebell... I've never used it but a kind friend gave it to me along with some workouts but I've been afraid to touch it! Guest guest
That's definitely been my problem with icing it consistently, too cold!! :-O He's a neat kid. Super sweet, super goofy sometimes too, but great. Thanks! Re: quick cardio/stretch Dear , One of the things that really helped me when my ankle was bad was kettlebells.
