Guest guest
Hey folks, I am writing this in case any of ya'll are going through same thing and this could help. For a decade now I have been asking for a bone density scan because bone pain and weakness are my main problem. Finally my new doctor gave me one and it came back that I have bad Osteoperosis (spelling) and have had for a long time. Can't help but wander how diferent my life would be if it had been treeted early on? The thing that kept making it worse was interferion. The very first shot would take all the pain levels way up in about 48 hours and they never came back down after stopping. It was only the first injection that did this. couple of years later I did Interferion with ribivarin and same exact thing happened. The third time I did Interferion it crippled me. I did have some sort of pre-existing bone problem that may or may not have been from the hepC. I guess what I am trying to get across is that if any of you have any kind of bone problems I would demand and keep demanding a bone density test. It can't hurt and actually does not hurt for real. You just lay on a table and an x-ray type machine goes back and forth over you scanning your bones. That's it, 10 minutes and your done. Personally I think every single one of us should have this test. If caught early you may not end up like me where your whole entire quality of life is dictated by pain meds. I am very thankfull for the quality of life I am able to get no matter how small but living off of pills gets very old very quick and if one simple test could help make that not happen then get it. If this just helps one person then I have done my job cause in the end that IS what life is all about...helping each other... Hope everyone has a fantastic year and at least one dream comes true.
