Guest guest
Hello everyone, I wasn't sure whether to update or not since there is no good news Last week my mom finally agreed to go to the hospital. She was having back pain that wouldn't go away so she wanted to see if they would give her anything. She also had gotten to where she couldn't hardly eat anything without hurting and feeling nausious. My sister went with her while I anxiously waited to see what the drs would say. After several house of waiting, my sister called to tell me they were admitting her because of her blood levels. I think she said her blood count was 1000, her liver enzymes were high, she was dehydrated, malnutritioned, pancreatitis, and liver was failing. The results were bad enough the dr could not believe she walked into the hospital. They admitted her on Tuesday, I got there that evening to stay for as long as I needed too. They did a CT scan and said that her liver has nodules on it but they were not sure if it was scar tissue or cancer. One dr wanted to run upper GI and colonoscopy but the stomach dr said no. The way he sounded he wanted to see if she was going to stop drinking before running the rest of the tests. They put her on a liquid diet and pumped her full of vitamins, gave her meds for detox, and prednisone. By Wednesday she was getting pretty angry at them coming in and getting blood every few hours and not giving her real food. Her logic was if she was so malnutrtioned why wouldn't they let her eat. I tried to explain to her that her pancreas need rest to repair itself but she didn't want to hear anything. She also was frustrated because the drs said she needed rest but they kept waking her up to take blood and vitals. The dr wanted to keep her till Friday but after begging and pleading he let her out Thursday. She said she would stop drinking as long as they gave her a prescription of the detox pills. By Thursday evening she complained they were making her dizzy and by Friday morning her husband took her to the beer store and she quit taking them. She said she will continue to take the prednisone (but when I talked to her yesterday I found out that she isn't taking them like she should) and the vitamins. I told her that all those vitamins aren't gonna make a bit of difference as long as she is drinking. My sister has decided that she can not watch my mother do this to herself, so she has told my mom that she can not see her or the kids or grandchild as long as she is drinking. My brother got drunk and decided to call her and told her that if she died he was going to kill himself. And her husband who drove her to the beer store, says that this is just who they are and who they will always be. I will continue to keep up with her, I will keep praying for her soul. The Lord has been patient and waited for her for 54 years, so I might as well be his right hand and reach out to her. I am limited on what I can do from 2 hours away but I will try to be the best Christian daughter I can be. Well, I just thought I would give everyone and update. Wish I had better news. Thanks for all of you who have been supportive. http://jennsanimals.com:) FOLLOW JESUS!!!!!!!
