Well, I was definitely lucky in this storm. I'm just northwest of new

orleans and, although we did not get the flooding like they did we

sure did see plenty of 100+ mph gusts--lots of downed trees,

powerlines, etc.--you name it, it came down. We were without power

for 9 days which gave me the challenge of trying to keep my Enbrel

refrigerated. (for anyone on that you know how expensive it is--I did

not want to replace that!) Luckily, my parents stayed with us (they

evacuated from slidell) and brought their generator which kept the

fridge running. I'm sure slidell has been in the news plenty b/c it

was one of the hardest hit--my parents were lucky to have a house

with NO water damage whatsoever! There are several trees down in

their yard and one on my dad's boat, an upstairs broken window and

lots of smelly, defrosted meat that had to be cleaned out! The church

where I got married got about 8ft. of water and the steeple was blown

off and our reception hall is no longer there. )-: I have been bored

to tears for the last 2 1/2 weeks because my nursing school is (was)

in new orleans. Needless to say, I haven't been going to school!

Also, my rheumy's office was in uptown new orleans and I have NO idea

where he is right now. So, all of this stress is causing me to be

more stiff in the morning. It takes a little while for my hands to

get going and my feet never stop hurting. The fatigue is getting to

me and my left knee is so swollen. So, I pass the day by cleaning my

house until I'm horribly exhausted and then I go to my husbands

office (he's in insurance and very busy right now!) to hang out with

him and play on the internet since I don't have cable or internet at

my house yet. Sorry to be rambling but I had to vent. Well, hopefully

I'll be starting school again soon in a different location. It will

be better then. Well, thanks to all of you that have read this.

Hammond, Louisiana
