Hi All,

Did anybody watch Amazing Medical Stories yesterday ?

I zapped in by chance and they had a report about 'men and women

eating themselves to death'. I watched only a few minutes but would

like to share with you what one of the patients said.

He talked about his addiction to food and the problem that - in

contrast to drugs, alcohol and cigarettes - you can't go cold turkey

on food. One has to eat, one has to face the source of addiction

every day more than once. Nobody would expect an alcoholic to make a

decision 3 times a day on how much, or better: little, Whiskey to

drink in order to stay alive - yet if you're addicted to food that is

what you have to do every day.

Why I wanted to share this with you ?

Well, it just reminded me that the band is only part of the solution.

And in my case it's the easy part. The hard part is getting my head

around... stop comfort eating... make the right food choices...

listen to my body and stop when feeling full - even if it's after a

ridiculous small amount of food...

Right now I'm doing fine but what I saw on tv yesterday made it even

more clear to me that I'm facing a life long challenge.

And I'm bluddy determined to WIN !!!

Cheers,
