Guest guest
Hi! I hope everyone is feeling good. I need some advice. I am on high doses of Methotrexate, and some anti-inflammatories. However, my one elbow keeps flaring, the rest is doing ok. I have had two steriod injections over the last 3 months into the elbow, which only provides short-term relief. So my doctor suggestions some options. Currently we are trying a high dose of anti-inflammatories for 2 weeks to see if that will help. I don't think it will, but worth a shot. The next option is to reinject (which hasn't worked so far) or start back on steriods at a high dose for a few weeks and see if that helps. We got the elbow X-ray'ed but think it will need an MRI. So the last two options are replace the elbow or have the ortho-surgery where the inflamed synovium is removed. My doctor said this is probably the better option (remove synovium), but also the most painful. I am wondering what you all have experienced between these two? I need some advice or suggestions.
