Welcome ette. Wow..what a lot of things to have to go through. I am glad you have rejoined activity in the group. These folks have really helped me. Some of your story is like mine. I contracted the disease in 1980 with a pregnancy that was tubal. I would have died so I have no hard feelings about it. I too did the same treatment though I think a year later. It did not clear me either. I just found out that I have type 1A and really did not pay attention to the disease for the rest of these years. I too recently started feel very bad and could not put a finger on it. Nothing showed in tests and finally I begged for a through testing on the HepC. I was found to have significant scaring and inflamation. I just learned this a month or so ago. I am waiting to attend a dr on the 27th to see if I need or can take further treatment. I have had the biopsy and the ultra sound and the lab work in the past eight weeks so hopefully she will have all the information she needs. That is where our stories stop matching. My husband of 30 yrs does not have it and the two sons I gave birth to since then do not have it. Thank heaven since one is a paramedic firefighter and he cant afford to have it. I raised four sons all grown now and have five grandkids ..three of them are ours to keep. Full custody. Not always fun but the worst is over for a while. We got them at 1,2,3 and I was just coming off treatment. Felt like hell. They are now 8,9,10 so hopefully if I have to go through treatment again it will go easier. I have diabetes but other than that am clear of illness beside that. Clutzy as all get out with a shattered wrist two yrs ago and an ankle broken in three places but doing okay. I have only been a member a few months but already I feel close to the people who are there when the anxiety about it all closes in. And with the newer info. I did not pay attention the first time and did not know much so this has been eye opening. I hope we can all be as supportive as they have been for me. Big hugs,Beckyray

Re: Intros & updates

Hi Everyone,

My name is ette, I live in New Iberia, Louisiana, I have been a member here for a long time, but discontinued email as so much was happening in my life I could not keep up.

I was diagnosed in 1999, but have had Hep C since 1972 when I was given a blood transfusion
