Guest guest
Dear Judi, I wish I had a cat to sit in my lap. I had to get rid of mine because my husband and son had severe allergies. I told my husband that when we move, we have to have a two-flat or an in-law apartment or some way for me to have a cat (or five). I think a cat's purr has healing powers--nothing like a warm, purring cat in your lap to make your whole body relax...sigh... laura --- nonny46 <nonny46@...> wrote: > Dear Prakasha, > > It sounds like you have found one of the keys with > dealing with these > diseases--keeping a good sense of humor. Guest guest
Dear , sometimes when my cat doesn't feel like cuddling (after all, he IS 18, and he does what HE wants to do!) I just grab one of my many teddy bears and stroke it while I read or listen to music--almost has the same effect. Try it! Judi

Guest guest
Thanks for the tip, Judi. I have a stuffed squirrel that one of my daycare moms gave me. Maybe I can rig it to purr. laura --- nonny46 <nonny46@...> wrote: > Dear , > > sometimes when my cat doesn't feel like cuddling > (after all, he IS 18, > and he does what HE wants to do!) Guest guest
, Sad that you had to get rid of your cat. i have 6 cats and love them immensely. I also have 4 dogs, but, they're dogs. Cats do have healing power in their purr. i'm presently away from home as my stepfather passed away, and have no cats here. i miss them so much. Everyone should have cats. Guest guest
Cami, I certainly agree with you about pets. I have 4 inside cats, 3 porch cats(tamed feral cats) and 2 wild feral cats one with 3 babies. The babies have been people socialized, the mother cat is wild as they come, but when the babies are about to be weaned, she brings them to me and puts them on the back porch. She still nurses them, but she expects/demands that I feed them baby food. So far I have been very lucky to find good homes for all the babies, and the big cats do not stray from my yard. I can just sit and watch them for hours, but it really helps to have them to get up to each morning. They truly are gifts from God. I know you agree. Guest guest
, I'm always glad to meet another cat person. I know a lot of people who would be in a bad way if it wasn't for their pets--two aunts in particular. One aunt lost her 20-year-old son, her mom and her husband within just a few years of each other. I don't think she would have gotten out of bed for months and might have become very ill herself, but her little dog " Hoover " still needed her. I honestly think he saved her life. Some day I'll move to the country and have cats again. laura <reitzj@...> wrote: , Sad that you had to get rid of your cat. i have 6 cats and love them immensely. Guest guest
& , I have 4 dogs & 4 cats. LOL! 2 male dogs, 2 female dogs, 3 male cats & 1 female cat. Three of the dogs are German Shorthaired Pointers (I plan to breed in the near future), one dog is a Husky/Lab mix who my stepson has claimed as HIS (LOL). The cats were all bottle-fed by me. Only two of them are siblings, but they were all abandoned at VERY young ages. Having pets definitely helps me get out of bed on bad days. Also, it's so nice to have 'someone' that appreciates you...even if all you can do is sit on the couch & moan! LOL! I had to give up my wonder cat Maxx because I had to go and live with friends. I really miss him. As I live alone he was my teddy bear. I hope to have my own place soon...and even though I will never find another Maxx...I will rescue another cat!!! They love you through thick and thin....and they let you go to the BR first in the am!! (dogs make you get out of bed and walk them first!!)
