Guest guest
Yea SuZie!!! Wouldn’t it be great if tx would finally work for you? Even if just long enough to let your liver catch a break, that would be amazing! So what do you think so far… ready to have a go of it again? Loves to you, Hi Beckyray, Oddly enuff I saw my doctor yesterday & he wants me to think about trying tx again! I tried in 1990 with the old tx - interferon monotherapy - & in 1992 with interferon & ribivirin. Neither worked! I'm non-responder. I wanted to try the combo therapy that's the usual tx now but my biopsy came back cirrhosis & my labs were way out of whack so they said my " disease has decompensated " & tx could do more harm than good. It's the same doc who now wants me to try again. He says there's a new tx coming out within the year & I'm " tx naive " for the combo tx so I could respond well. We'll see. Sounds to me like this doc you're seeing now iwsn't really very informed on HCV. What is he - a G I? They're all idiots but they ARE trainable. I've been seeing this one for about 15 years & I've got him pretty well trained now - still a few things to work on but over all . . . He said that there were four things that were contraindications for treatment. 1 it had not worked well the first time. 2 I am now dx'd as diabetic. 3. I have a long history of taking the psych meds I take. SuZie & Sir SpYke the Fuzzy, Lord of the Manor (who has me pretty well trained) The problem with the gene pool? No lifeguards!
