I will be right ahead of you. I start mine in mid February in Nevada"If people were meant to pop out of bed, we'd all sleep in

Hi All,

It's been awhile since I've posted. So a quick refresher... .I was diagnosed in October of 2008 (contracted thru blood transfusion when I was born in 1981) with Genotype 1A, liver biopsy in Jan 2009 showed minimal inflammation. I got pregnant and had a beautiful baby girl in October 2009. I went back to my GI doc today and she wants me to start treatment in May.

Any suggestions or words of advice of what to do prior to treatment or during?

Thanks

Denyel

Looks like I will be treating in May. I have to lose 25 pounds by then so get as close to your normal weight before treatment if you need to.

It's also a good idea and most Doc's will insist that you be on an anti D before you treat.

Stock up on water, because you need to drink allot of fluid.

I am also post transplant. There is no special diet, just eat healthy like we are all supposed to, avoid alcohol of course, get vaccinated for Hep a & B, I am careful about salad bars or any food sitting out like buffets. Some like to wash there fruits and veggie a little more vigorously.

Anti-D = Anti depressant. It is a good idea to get on them

before beginning hep c treatment as the drugs can make us more than a bit

whacko… and yes, that is a medical term lol.

Anti depressants and anxiety meds vary in what will work for a specific person. All your health needs have to be taken into consideration. There are many new drugs out there that have greatly improved the results and the chances of getting the right ones or combination of ones. A decision in this area should carefully be made with your physician. Often this is done in a coordinated effort between a psychiatrist and the doctor that is treating you for Hep C and/or tx.

Blessings,
