Guest guest
Hi All, I heard/read a lot about 'first bite syndrome' but I'm not sure what it exactly means. Why I'm asking ? Well, while I had no problems at all the first 2 weeks, I experienced now a few times the feeling like something got 'stuck' in my chest. My main problem are the Diabex tablets (Metformin) I take every evening. They went down really well the first 2 weeks and now I'm having difficulties swallowing them (and since these ones are extended release tablets I'm not supposed to break/half them. And I have the same feeling sometimes with the first few bites of the first non-liquid food I take in the morning (well, more at around lunch time since I'm not hungry in the morning and will only drink some soy milk or sustagen). But once the first 2 or 3 bites are down everything is fine - s t r a n g e ??? I'm having my first post-op appointment with Dr. Crawford on Thursday and wonder if he will put some fill in the band. So far I'm not feeling hungry at all and so I stop eating very early (e.g. after a really small portion of food), but I never had the feeling of any kind of restriction. To me it feels like I could just go on eating and eating and eating... Did anybody else have the same problems ? Cheers, banded 14/12/06 107/102.8/
