Hi Sue,

Sorry to be so slow replying, but I didn't have internet access over the

weekend. I'm having e-mail withdrawal real bad. Yeah, I live in the northern

suburbs and that snow really did a number on my joints. Believe me, you can

live without it. There are good things in the area too--museums and plenty of

Hobby Lobbies hahaha.

Have a great week! laura

Hi Kathy,

I live in Woodstock, which is about 50 minutes from Gurnee Mills, one of my

favorite spots. Ever go to Black Market Minerals? It's in Gurnee Mills and so

is Serpent Safaril. There are a few of us from IL. I wonder if the weather is

just too much!!

This is so cool, Kathy. I try to catch Gurnee Mills in the middle of a

weekday. It's quieter then. Woodstock was such a nice town when we first

moved here 12 years ago, but have you seen the development lately?? McConnell

Road is turning into a sea of cookie cutter houses and my stomach hurts every

time they trash one of those beautiful old trees. Why can't they build around

them? My husband says it's because they don't want anything blocking their

marketing signs. You'd think that the trees would be such a selling point,

though. If you haven't seen Woodstock in a while I think you'll be a little

misty at the changes.

Milwaukee is great!! It is easier for us to use your airport where we are than

Chicago's. We love Ed Debevik's (sp???). It's a restaurant where they pretend

it's the 50's and the waiters are sassy and they dance on the counters.

Chicago has one too, but it's a dump.

Phew! My husband is going to the store for ice. He started feeling guilty

because he knows it was his fault I had a horrible time with the stupid turkey.

I wanted to get smoked turkey and just a regular turkey breast, but he wanted

a cheaper traditional turkey. When I told him I would have a hard time with

it, he starts saying the family will help and was guilting me out like I can't

depend on them blah blah, but of course the fact is he is totally helpless in

the kitchen. I'm trying to explain about micro-organisms that can grow in

turkey juice that gets splattered and I was right that it wouldn't thawed and I

was right about everything which makes him really mad, so I had to just take

over and DO it. And it hurt.

But then he starts feeling guilty and that's even more annoying that when

he's being a jerk almost. He starts trying to be nice and staring at me a lot.

When I'm mad at someone I just want them to leave me alone, but he gets over

things within minutes and is totally in my face.

Sorry I'm writing so much today. Just ignore me.
