Budget 2012: Carers' Working Tax Credits Retained for 16 HoursFrom April 2012 couples will have to increase their working hours from 16 to 24 to qualify for working tax credits. However at the last minute before the Budget, the Chancellor announced that couples will continue to receive the credits if one partner works 16 hours per week and their partner is entitled to Carer’s Allowance.http://www.communitycare.co.uk/Articles/21/03/2012/118088/tax-credit-u-turn-for-families-with-disabled-children.htmhttp://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/BenefitsTaxCreditsAndOtherSupport/Caringforsomeone/DG_10012525http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2012/848/regulation/2/made
