Hi Everyone,

For my workout today I did Tracey Mallett's Booty Barre Beginners & Beyond and LOVED it (although, I think the name is kind of silly!). It was challenging to me - mostly b/c this is a different style of workout from what I'm used to doing and also b/c my flexibility just isn't what it used to be. I think Tracey did a great job with this one. The music is nice (although a bit on the soft side). I did the whole thing - even the tutorial, which was helpful to me in reminding me of good form for this style of workout. The main workout is probably around 30 min and includes a little of everything at the barre. No sustained pelvic tuck, which is important to me b/c holding that position for a long time and doing other movements with it tends to hurt my back (my arch is too flat to begin w/ and that just encourages the bad posture) I also added

on the floor work for abs and butt - and again, I was able to do the ab work - no sustained holding of a "C" curve (again, one of the bad things for my back) and some nice glute work and a bit of flexibility. This one is a winner!I'm feeling enthusiastic about my upcoming rotation! I think it will be fun for me to explore my neglected barre DVDs. I don't think I'm moving away from the Booty Barre beginner for some time - I found it pretty challenging, so I can't even imagine how her other DVD is!! I also have some neglected Core Fusion DVDs to do as well as some other misc. ones out there. I think it will be a good experiment and seems to fit w/ the winter theme of "Quiet" workouts.Ok - better get going! I'm going to walk outdoors today w/ my friend - and it is a good thing - after this weekend it is supposed to get really cold here.Oh - I'm also being assigned a nightmare project at work (I really shouldn't check my e-mail when

I'm off - it just aggravates me), so now I'm really dreading going back to it on Tuesday! I just hope the training session for this project is not Wed b/c my DD is having her teeth pulled out that day and I'm taking the day off to take her in and then spend time w/ her aftewards. Hopefully it won't be a big deal - they are baby teeth and they need to come out b/c her mouth is so crowded her adult teeth can't come in. Take care!Donna

I have been trying to NOT look at these for fear I may like them too much LOL! I have the new Core Fusions I got with my gift card so I am hoping to give those a whirl in the upcoming week. I tried the boot camp one for the first time and OMG LOVED it! It was challenging, but not like Cathe cardio challenging so it was perfect! I also got Cathe's barre workout, I haven't tried that one yet either :). I hope work doesn't become too much of a dread with the project, and DD's does well at the dentist! Hi Donna,

It is good to hear you so enthusiastic about your workout plan!

Good luck with your project and training too, ugh. I have only gotten a couple of work-related emails this week (all on the same topic and it was easy to take care of) and one annoying phone call but was dreading worse so I can't complain. Good luck too with the teeth pulling thing, I hope it goes quickly for her!
