Guest guest
, Wow, I have tried to go off prednisone, but never accomplished it. Probably one of the reasons I have a broken leg right now. You are smart to try, if you can. I would check with the Dr. about any unusual sounds like cracking, and popping. I think these can be normal, but they also were the signs of my fracture. SO it is best to be safe than sorry. BUT....GREAT work I am proud of you! Guest guest
Carol: I am thrilled to be off the Prednisone. It wasn't easy, and it took months to do, but I finally tapered down. I'll admit, the first week without Prednisone was brutal, but I kept with it. I think the real reason I was able to get off the Prednisone was because I stopped the Minocycline I had been taking. I have a feeling it was actually making my RA symptoms. Since stopping Minocycline, my RA hasn't been anywhere near as bad. I am going to re-introduce the Minocycline at a later date to see if it causes problems. I want to make sure that it was the cause of my flares. It's frustrating...meds that are supposed to help you get better can cause a whole other set of medical problems. I really hope your leg heals up soon and you're feeling better. I am terrified of getting a stress fracture. Take care, > , > Wow, I have tried to go off prednisone, but never accomplished it. Probably > one of the reasons I have a broken leg right now.
