In praise of Dr G - he's just written the best letter to our paed in terms of

clarity and transparency. It won't make a jot of difference but she can't claim

she wasn't told in clear terms what's going on. I really take my hat off to him

- there's no double speak just Tom has this, I'm treating him, I'm treating him

like this, please get in touch to discuss further

This is a serious question, as I am wondering whether we may have to go and see

him if the school becomes unhelpful re supplments and diet: does he normally

insist on a lot of expensive tests and then expensive private prescription

drugs? I ask because this would be outside my budget and there would then have

been no point in having a consult.

(And I know I am rather out of the loop, but aren't very long courses of

antibiotics a bad thing - ruinous for the gut, for a start?)

He will work with your budget. The AB's are targetted at strep, its pulse dosing

I don't think he insists on anything. Why not email and ask before having a

consult, avoid the risk? He doesn't set the cost of the drugs - azitrhomycin is

a cheap drug (to the NHS), it's just when they won't prescribe that it's

ruinously expensive.

Margaret, it's a massive new direction for most of us (the long-term

drugs including antibiotics). I recommend Dr Goldberg's book 'the myth

of autism' to get you started on this way of thinking or watch one of

his presentations on line. I don't agree with all he says by a long way

but I think the core of what he says is spot on.

Hi, we are also thinking of going to see Dr Goyal, like some of you, would be nervous about antibiotics, what tests/results prompt him to prescribe or is he just going on behaviours? And I can't find his details for contact! thanks, Di To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Sent: Monday, 21 May 2012, 11:48 Subject: Re: Dr G
