oh no jen... everything with your mom and now gizmo sounds so

distressing, im so sorry that you are having to go through this

with them. it must be really hard :(

and it can be even harder during xmas because of everything one

has to do for the holiday and there are alot of expectations as

to how one is supposed to feel, etc.

sometimes i think that everything sucks too, but life does march

on and i have to buck up and fake it till i make it, iykwim.

im glad that you did get the tree done... please take some time

to sit down and enjoy what is good about the season,

hugs,

:*carolyn.

HUGS Jen! That is a lot to deal with, especially during the holidays. Sending get well wishes for mom and kitties. This Christmas has pretty much sucked for us! We are honoring Jesus's birth but everything else has been a disaster. Both of my cats have been taking turns getting sick since September and last week my Mom had to have a blood transfusion, the third one this year. I can understand my cat Mia getting sick because she's 19 years old but Gizmo is only 14 (not old for a Siamese cat) and now he's having health problems. He has bad kidneys (although they have improved, which is rare) and just now he was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism! The Vet prescribed a pill to suppress his thyroid twice a day but he hated it so she prescribed a gel to be rubbed in his ears twice a day. This Wednesdays he went CRAZY! He was afraid of every noise or movement. He hissed at Mia when she barely touched him and jumped across the room. He hid in the basement. I went downstairs to get him and he was laying down in his litter box like it was his BED! I brought him upstairs with me and held him for a while. He was fine until he heard a noise and got scared, he then peed all over me! I was so upset and worried about him. I called the pharmacy and asked if the gel could have this side effect and they said they didn't think so. Yesterday I brought him to the Vet and she tested his blood. Today she called and told me that his T4 thyroid level was now too low and that's what caused his behavior...so now he will only get the gel once a day. Because of all this we got behind with Christmas errands etc... and only yesterday finished decorating the tree.Life sucks sometimes!Depressed, Jen
