Donna, your $366 limit is a good idea - a dollar a day!  Think about it, most gym memberships are at least $30 a month (mine's $47), which would be $360 per year.  Your amount is very reasonable!  And unlike many people that buy videos and gym memberships, you actually USE them!

Private school IS worth it - and I would do the same if I had kids, even if it meant taking up an extra job. Hugs. And with orthodontia can you pay for uncovered expenses with pre-tax dollars of the flexible spending account?

I too am in a funk.  I've been kinda depressed the past few weeks.  A lot of it is that Aunt Flo should come about right this instant which will help with food cravings and the blues.  Other than walking at lunch I haven't worked out since Sunday, and oddly I'm still sore from that workout!   My bod needs the break I think, but my sleep has been poor.  I'm feeling antisocial, I just want to stay home and hibernate. I'll get through it, I always do, just riding it out.

Lacklusterly,

Hi Everyone,I seem to still be having trouble keeping up w/ everyone's posts!!! Oh well, maybe next week when the routine is more normal!

Today I did manage to talk myself into working out - which was a good thing! I did the cardio workout from KCM's new Start Here DVD. I enjoyed it. The first section is two combos of cardio - nothing too difficult or fancy - more athletic than anything else. Second half is light weight sculpting done at a faster pace. suggests no more than 5's for this section and that is about right. It was all upper body work. ends with some standing core work. I liked it overall - great for a lower intensity day. I then added on Upper Body Balanceball w/ Suzanne Deason. I really should throw these balance ball dvds into the mix more often - they are quite therapeutic - a lot of " physical

therapy " type exercises to help w/ range of motion. It wasn't a terribly hard workout but it was nice. Suzanne is so detailed in her instruction and you can't beat the outdoor settings. So, I think tomorrow I'm going to do Booty Barre Beginners and unofficially kick off my barre/Ellen rotation. I previewed a bit of it this morning - while cleaning - I had a mini heart attack when it froze, but I cleaned the disc and then it played fine. It looks like a really fun workout, too. Then, I'm going for a walk w/ my friend. Her DH is going to watch our two DDs (who are also friends) while we walk.

I'm not sure if I'll workout on Sat or Sun - I have just been feeling the need to sleep in. I'm sure it is the weather and the post-holiday slump. Also, DH has been working an earlier shift and my sleep is disturbed by that.

I'm off today and tomorrow! Yay! we're going to see the Muppet Movie today w/ my mom. Hopefully it will be a nice

day!Talk to everyone later.Still no Grace & Gusto...guess I need to be patient. My KCM pre-order arrived on Tuesday though. My 2012 goal is to be more frugal in my spending overall (I'm in a mild freak out about paying for DD's private school - which I love and which I think benefits her greatly but is pricey- and then having to pay for college, too...oh, and orthodontia......not to mention saving for retirment - I guess I should stop thinking before I really put myself into a funk!) Anyway, I'm going to reign in my fitness spending as well as other spending on non-essentials. I am already really good about using our public library for books and my DD really enjoys using the library as well. So, that is good. For fitness, I'd like to limit my buget to $366 - $1 per day. And, if I can come in under that, all the better. I have so many workouts that are in shrinkwrap still and many that have only been done once. Other than

perhaps new Ellen, Tracey, Firm, and KCM workouts I really should be able to not buy much this year!Ok - better run!Donna

Hi!Yes, I feel anti-social and tired.....could just be the cycle of the seasons! Yes, w/ the orthodontia I can use flex spending money and also my insurance does cover some of it - so it won't be so bad and at least will be in stages. Private school is the financial killer, but it really is a good place for my DD so I'm willing to suck it up! I feel she has gotten a better education plus has more "support" in terms of teachers and friends there - w/ a smaller school it is easier to identify and stop bullying. Which is something I worry about. Take care! Feel better! I bet your vacation in January will perk you up.

Also, sorry to hear you need surgery on your foot - what a bummer!! The lady who cuts my hair had a similar cyst in her wrist and had to take some time off from work - since hair cutting uses the wrist a lot!((HUGS))

Hi ,

When you put it that way, about the money, that makes a lot of sense. DH has been using the trial gym membership we've had so now we're looking into various gyms and how much they cost per month and seeing if we can afford it for him. I'd love to find one that is $30/month. We haven't looked much yet though. It is a funky season too, mood-wise. So many expectations, even if we try not to have them, they're lurking. Also, I often get into a post-holiday funk, all the fun stuff is over now it is real life again. We undecorate the house soon and though I'll welcome having my normal house back, I'll also miss the decorations. I'm leaving out my snow lady though. She's about 3 feet high and not Christmasy, just seasonal and she makes me smile (I love snowmen/women/people/whatever). We need that as much as possible in Michigan during the winter when there's very little sun (today it is very dark and rainy, which is weird because it is usually snowy but I'm not complaining, it is easier to drive in rain than snow). Keep posting and riding out the funk,we're with you!
