Guest guest
LOLOL!!!!!!! Oh my, I can relate. Boy, can I relate. Being a patient is something else. It's all out there in the open. Girl, I describe myself as " weatherbeaten " , so yeah, I can relate. That is a tough decision. Well I went to the podiatrist today for the lump on my ankle and I need to have it surgically removed. It's not a big deal whatsoever, BUT it can't get wet while it's healing for 2 weeks so I'm going to do it after Kauai, which normally wouldn't be a big deal except I have the 15K Shamrock Run in March. I hope I will heal in time to be able to train. He said I could wait til after the race too, but the cyst won't let me run that far right now I don't think. I was able to run 6 miles a couple weeks ago but it wasn't happy. Decisions, decisions. The funny part: now the doc wasn't 's Dr. Gorgeous or anything,, BUT he was young and attractive. I purposefully didn't put any toenail polish on because I wanted him to check out 2 of my funky toenails while I was there. So not only do I have the runners' toenails on the big toes that are growing back in from half falling off, The index toenails are REALLY thick, they remind me of elephants' toenails.. I wanted to pretty up these twinkle toes before going in so last night I clipped them back and filed the hell out of them to make them a little more presentable. Welll... when I took of my sock that particular toe had a layer of DRIED BLOOD on it from over clipping! It was both embarrassing and really funny! Let's see, we have. discolored runners' toenails (he commented on those), elephant thick toenails with a bloody toe and an ankle cyst to top it all off. Guest guest
Well I went to the podiatrist today for the lump on my ankle and I need to have it surgically removed. It's not a big deal whatsoever Glad to hear it's not a serious surgery. Will they just numb the area or would you have to be put to sleep? Funny how you tried to make them look presentable and then ended up with dried blood lol. You silly girl!! ~~
Guest guest
Too funny.... all my health professionals I go to are women.. so no Dr. Handsomes for me...well glad you have a good diagnosis and plan. I would lean toward right after hawaii so you can try to train.. if not run walk the shamrock? esp since I bet spring brings in other fun races. For my NY goals I have walking 5k and 10K... I want to walk (maybe run but I am realistic with my knees) a half marathon at disney next jan. A group of my dog friends walk it every year and it looks fun but you have to walk fast to make it.. so going to tryjudy in DC To: exercisevideos Sent: Wednesday, December 28, 2011 9:41 PM Subject: I need foot surgery Well I went to the podiatrist today for the lump on my ankle and I need to have it surgically removed. Guest guest
Judy, most of the time walking a race is okay, but for the Shamrock Run 15K it's no walkers, they have their own 5K that they do. The limit this year is 32,000 people and it always sells out, so they have to keep things moving. Some races do let you bring your dogs - I think that would be really neat to do! Guest guest
You are so cute, ! I would end up having the same silly thing happen to me, I'm sure of it! Sorry to hear about the surgery though, I hope once it is over and healed you won't have this problem again at least. Good luck with your decision about how to time it, I know that is difficult (and I have no good ideas). Guest guest
Thanks, ! I'd be mad too about it interfering with something you enjoy so much (the money would bug me a lot too)! Guest guest
That is a bummer. The only good side is that these fees probably went to good causes, but still.
