Guest guest
Dr G told me that absorption through bottom of feet is poor - never the less using Oil of oregano for parasites was very effective for us with this method.Alison R Hi All Does anyone know if rubbing coconut oil on bottoms of the feet, if it actually penetrates through to the body like magnesium oil does, i have read that applying magnesium oil this way is more beneficial than taking orally so would this be the same for coconut oil, anyone have any ideas, also what about massaging into the scalp would it have the same effect? x
Guest guest
Hi I posted the other day about Luke not sleeping well at all which I think has been difficult for Luke due to his intrusive thoughts. For the last week I have been giving him a foot massage with coconut oil every night and his sleep has been worse than ever and he has been only having on average 6 hours sleep a night – so he has been absolutely shattered. Yesterday I discovered on the internet some people saying that if they eat coconut oil in the evening they can’t sleep. Last night I didn’t use coconut oil on his feet and he slept from 9:30pm to 7am! Now this may be a coincidence – but I am going to see what happens tonight. I will keep you posted – but I am interested to find out if it could be something so straight forward as coconut oil that was stopping him from sleeping! I also looked on an old IgG test and coconut was high (3). Nicola
Guest guest
Hi Nicola Jack actually gives me the jar of coconut oil and asks me to rub it on his back every night and I haven't noticed that it interupts his sleep, but as we know they are all different! Guest guest
FWIW have read coconut oil revs up the thyroid and has knock on effect on other hormones. Certainly made me hyper and messed up my mensrual cycle. Later I read that those for whom coconut is a routine part of their native diet would usually eat whole coconut and tend not to have solely the oil. Guest guest
Does that mean Jacqui that if you were a bit hypo(thyroid) using coconut oil would be a good thing? Guest guest
Nicola, Have you checked to see if he is hyperthyroid? I am just thinking that there is a link between being hyperthyroid & intrusive thoughts + his reaction to coconut oil which speeds up metabolism - if he is already hyper then the coconut oil could be making it worse, hence him not being able to sleep. Google Graves disease or hyperthyroidism and psychiatric presentations. Have you got a blood pressure monitor and can you measure his pulse - 2 starting points. All the best. > > Hi > > > > I posted the other day about Luke not sleeping well at all which I think has > been difficult for Luke due to his intrusive thoughts. Guest guest
Hi Nikki, Well I found out that's why some people take it. I don't think I am hypothyroid but trying to find out why my sex hormones seemed to go out of sync I read it also upregulates DHEA, testoserone and estrogen. Sorry, no references for that, maybe google it? Perhaps if someone hypothyroid can find the 'sweet' point it's helpful... guess that's the same with many supplements!! Guest guest
hi nicola, just a thought but we only give ozonated coconut oil in the mornings, i do not give it at night, we get ours from bobbys-healthstore.co.uk it seems odd it may be causing sleep deficiency, keep us posted on what happens next, we like the ozonated oils as they help with calmness, gut issues and you can use it as a face cream.. also its anti viral,Isobel > > > > > > > > Hi > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I posted the other day about Luke not sleeping well at all which I think > > > has > > > > been difficult for Luke due to his intrusive thoughts. Guest guest
Thanks Jacqui and Jo, I always knew coconut oil was good stuff but didn't know about its effect on the thyroid and hormones.... x > > > > > > > > Hi > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I posted the other day about Luke not sleeping well at all which I think has > > > > been difficult for Luke due to his intrusive thoughts.
