Guest guest
Simply healthy eating detoxes me great!! Lots of water, lots of fruits & veggies, nothing better than that! Need New Year's Detox Hi all, I have been eating very badly lately and I feel like crud. I would like to start the New Year off on a better note. Does anyone know of a good 3 or 4 day detox I could follow. I was thinking maybe I should do a 24 hour fast first, then start a detox, but I don't know what plan to follow. Thanks. Guest guest
I second 's notion! In my opinion most " detoxes " are just fancy ways to make money. Do drink lots of water, eat lots of veggies and non-processed foods and you'll feel GREAT! Simply healthy eating detoxes me great!! Lots of water, lots of fruits & veggies, nothing better than that! Guest guest
Finally back online and I will say most detox and fasting doesn't help but two I have done have been helpful but they are prepacked1) BluePrint Cleanse.. it is a juice based cleanse. .I find doing 2-3 days has really readjusted my stomach, my complexion is good and I drop about 5 lbs and only gain back 1 or so.. but it is expensive2) PeerTrainer.. has Fresh start Detox program.. you can use shakes or not. I did it with shakes. The goal is to identify foods that may cause reaction so for 2 weeks no dairy, soy, peanuts, glutten, whey, eggs, and I can't remember rest but then gradually add back and see if you get reactions.. I found out I am slightly reactive to gluttenI am going to do the peer trainer one for 5 days next weekjudy in DC To: Sent: Tuesday, December 27, 2011 8:51 PM Subject: Need New Year's Detox Hi all, I have been eating very badly lately and I feel like crud. Guest guest
All I can say, is happy holidays! I'm right there with you. I felt celebratory and decided to enjoy all the holiday food. I have a nice little christmas belly.I'll get it back in line in January. I always do. Veggies, water, fruit --- all that good stuff. Hi all, I have been eating very badly lately and I feel like crud. I would like to start the New Year off on a better note. Does anyone know of a good 3 or 4 day detox I could follow. I was thinking maybe I should do a 24 hour fast first, then start a detox, but I don't know what plan to follow. Thanks. I felt the worst I've ever felt Monday morning after eating everything in sight the entire weekend, including Friday. I got up and had a bad headache, even got dizzy while doing cardio. My head felt like it was in a big fog all day. I didn't get in any good food even on Monday, but I didn't eat much either from doing so much shopping. I got up Tuesday morning and felt the same way so mid morning I got back to my veggies and fruits. I had that pretty much the whole day and got in about 70 oz of water. So far (only 6 am) I feel better this morning. Eating LOTS of veggies and fruits a long with a ton on water will really make a difference. Your body needs those foods and will respond well to them. You're not alone on the bad eating. I can't believe how bad I've felt. I think I had the " food hangover " they talk about. ~~
Guest guest
i also have a food hangover ... my biggest mistake was eating fried rice made by my chinese SIL... ive had it before but this time she used more spice and it was hot. she said that she put alot of ginger in it, and i know there were other spices too. therefore my digestive system has been giving me alot of grief ever since...ugh! the half-price choc cake was divine... very rich, but i only ate one piece and had no ice cream. of course MIL had to bake 3 pies and bring them along--apparently she did not want to have cake. i did not have pie, but others did, so there was cake to take home...oh yay :/ so mistake number two was indulging in another piece of cake on boxing day despite the protests of my stomach. spent the 27th on the couch and in the bathroom. pounding headache. was able to go to work tonight (28th) but still feel queasy. so im with everyone else here, on the water and fruits, a few veges. i seem to tolerate a little dairy and some plain chicken so thats it for pro -- will try a sm amt of peanut butter and ww toast tomorrow. not able to take vitamins, had better not catch a bug... ugh!!! no workouts but still managing 8-10K steps most days. i hope i can go walking tomorrow, but it is darned cold and snowy here now. have lots more deli work to do this week, but need to remind myself to still do a short ab workout and stretching each day. pushup challenge hasnt started yet, i still need to organize the guys... will work on that. here's to better eating for everyone! :*carolyn. ps: oh i forgot to mention the 3 lite beers that i had on xmas day too... My problem was the sweets, I baked 2 dozen cookies, made peanut butter pie, brownie cake, peanut butter rice krispie treats, and chocolate fudge. I ate bites of ALL OF IT and then when it was done I was still eating it. That doesn't count the 3 dinners we had with all that dessert plus other peoples. So I think mine was sugar. I still have the chocolate fudge in the fridge and come the weekend I'd like to have one, just one, but I'm afraid to even take a bite of it. Even though I over indulge on the weekends this was the worst for me. I don't get it though, I eat bad every weekend and feel fine come Monday, just ready to get back to normal again, but this time I felt right now sick. Headache, dizzy, weak. Maybe I ate way more then I would on a normal weekend? I know I don't want to ever feel like that again. Even though you haven't worked out, you really have with getting that many steps in. Good for you Carolyn. My average has went down a bit, but I'm still getting 10,000 in most days. I guess that's all that matters. ~~
Guest guest
Yes, we all have stomach issues here from eating outside of our usual foods..... I wonder if you generally eat healthy if this stuff is even more toxic to you than the average person? Even my DD is feeling it.... Oh well, this too shall pass!Donna Subject: Re: Need New Year's DetoxTo: exercisevideos Date: Wednesday, December 28, 2011, 11:42 PM i also have a food hangover ...my biggest mistake was eating fried rice made by my chinese SIL... ive had it before but this time she used more spice and it was hot. she said that she put alot of ginger in it, and i know there were other spices too. therefore my digestive system has been giving me alot of grief ever since...ugh!the half-price choc cake was divine... very rich, but i only ate one piece and had no ice cream. of course MIL had to bake 3 pies and bring them along--apparently she did not want to have cake. i did not have pie, but others did, so there was cake to take home...oh yay :/ so mistake number two was indulging in another piece of cake on boxing day despite the protests of my stomach.spent the 27th on the couch and in the bathroom. pounding headache. was able to go to work tonight (28th) but still feel queasy. so im with everyone else here, on the water and fruits, a few veges. i seem to tolerate a little dairy and some plain chicken so thats it for pro -- will try a sm amt of peanut butter and ww toast tomorrow. not able to take vitamins, had better not catch a bug... ugh!!!no workouts but still managing 8-10K steps most days. i hope i can go walking tomorrow, but it is darned cold and snowy here now. have lots more deli work to do this week, but need to remind myself to still do a short ab workout and stretching each day. pushup challenge hasnt started yet, i still need to organize the guys... will work on that.here's to better eating for everyone!:*carolyn.ps: oh i forgot to mention the 3 lite beers that i had on xmas day too... LOLOL > Maybe I ate > way more then I would on a normal weekend? I know I don't want to > ever feel like that again. im sure that was the case. and, me neither...ugh! i still dont feel right today. im off to get another big cup of water. oh, and i hear you about the lack of tv right now too... blah! > Even though you haven't worked out, you really have with getting > that many steps in. Good for you Carolyn. My average has went > down a bit, but I'm still getting 10,000 in most days. I guess > that's all that matters. thanks michelle! you are also still doing great on your steps! ive been putting my steps into a spreadsheet (each day that i have monitored) since the end of august. then i take an average of all of those 116 entries and get 7791... i wish the average was higher, but the good news is that im at 903787 in total... aiming for the 1 million steps mark! having lots of steps helps to keep my weight down but i still need to do more abs and other body weight workouts. my goal for the new year is to get back into organized workouts again... my hours at work will go back down to 3-4 shifts a week so i will really need it and i should have time and energy to do it! im quite looking forward to it... getting a bit tired of so much time in the deli. :*carolyn.
