Guest guest
Thanks so much for the article, It is very helpful and i am copying and pasting it to my friend who has also adopted a girl with hep C from Vietnam. Our daughters shared a crib in the orphanage so we all keep in touch often , She has chosen not to have treatment for her daughter now as she is Genotype 1 . She wants to wait till the drug treatments get more successful fror her daughter. Both girls have great liver enzymes and seem to be very healthy otherwise with normal ALT's, etc. my daughter did have an extreme high AFP level and we were worried about the possibility of a tumor but that has resolved itself. At that time they talked to us about possible transplant but being that she is so small she would get a living donor liver (just a lobe) And what an awesome surprise to find out her and I are a match. sorry to go on and on, but we are ready yet scared to move onto this next step. I am so honored to be her mama and ready to take this journey with her. > > Honey we know it must be very difficult being a mother of a HCV+ child. > > Our best wishes and prayers are with you - your child and family. > > As you know diseases in peds - tx's - medical guidelines are different than for adults. > > HCV in peds - adolescents is now a new form of specialized peds medicine with medical standard of care now in development and for tx. > > As you know children are very resilient when ill and can fair much better than adults. > > As her mother it's up to you as to how much and being an RN how much > professional medical info you can what to and are able to handle at any given time or pace yourself all along the way with her peds Dr. > > I found 1 short general article for you below. > > As an RN you can register online at med sites Medscape for example as a med professional with full access to the most recent medical studies - trials - info - articles - journals - most recent recommended pt - peds medical guidelines for pt care. > > My heart goes out to you - your child and family. > > As a Mom we are strong do what we need to do for our kids but it is very difficult on us and can be more at times with a medical background. > > You know you need to take the best care of you to both physically and emotionally for the both of you and family. > > A Big Hug and All The Best To You - Your Child and Family. > > Deb > > HEPATITIS C TREATMENT > 232k - AdPAN>obe PDF - View as html > www.pkids.org. 1.
