Dear Deb, I find out tuesday if i start the interferon, ribavarin meds, and I'm scared. Were you scared too? What did you do to ease your mind, mine is going a hundred miles per hour!!!

Honey we all were very scared overwhelmed at 1st any firsts all along the way with our Hep C and treatments which is normal and natural. Just try not to become to overwhelmed anxious or stressed out about it all. Hep C and tx's comes with those emotional sides complications medical problems in different degrees for all of us. Tx meds the sides also causes this more. Dr's know understand expect it. It is strongly recommended we be on successful anti anxiety depression meds before

starting tx's. Our Dr's have many helpful suggestions and Rx's to help us with

symptoms of Hep C and while on tx's.

We have many members on tx's - treatments now starting soon or finished it. Many success stories and some not.

There is no sure medical way to predict who will clear from tx's or who will get what sides or how severe or not. In general the best results from tx's and with less sides is earliest with Hep C and stages.

Once I decided to do tx I never looked back or 2nd guessed myself. It was full steam ahead geared up psyched myself up for it to give it my best shot my all and just handled whatever came my way the best I possible could. I know what to expect how best to handle it had much support and just hoped and prayed for the best.

I figured tx was the only game in town and if I didn't try it I would never know if it would work or not for me. I didn't want to have any regrets or leave my family with regrets later on when it was too late for tx's. I knew I was under excellent medical care watched very closely and any signs of danger my Dr's would pull me off tx which they did in time.

That was my unique case tx in late stages and after transplant with my own set of other medical problems. Tx and sides do follow many norms much in common but can be medically different the outcomes and the sides for each person.

You have all of us for support and info too.

Most Dr's and staff will explain fully about tx's give you a starter kit with lots of info instruct you before you start it be prepared and to ask as many questions about you and your tx as you need to and while on it. The 1st shot is usually done at the Dr's office to make sure you understand and do it correctly.

It sounds too simple but it's try drinking at least a gallon of water throughout the day helps with the sides of tx and from becoming dehydrated from it with flu like symptoms.

We just take the best care of ourselves we can mind body and spirit eat drink healthy as liver friendly as possible stay positive and handle whatever comes along for each one of us.

You will start to have more Dr visits labs and tests get a copy of the final reports for your records. You will start to understand it all very quickly can refer back to it compare it know where you stand have easy access to it and if referred to other Dr's and specialists.

I kept and still keep lab and test reports on file in folders. I also used steno pads to write down my questions for my Dr's with visits or with phone calls and wrote everything down their answers what they told me and what to do and for scheduling things.

We are here for you every step of the way keep us updated about you.

Very informative helpful links are below about tx's and questions to ask our Dr's with more at our group site under Files - Links sections.
