Guest guest
Merry Christmas to all! As of Friday morning I was down to my lowest weight in over a year... as of tomorrow morning, I sure won't be there any more between baking the last couple of days and today's meals but it has all been delicious! :-) I've been mostly under control but not completely but I'm okay with it. I'm actually approaching my bottom-out weight where I really don't look good anymore (too thin in the face especially) and don't want to go there so a little gain would be okay (emphasis on a LITTLE gain so that's why I haven't been totally out of control). This is a great place to be though since I spent most of 2011 fighting 3-5 stupid pounds on the high side of my happy weight (now I'm under it). Anyway, I finally got serious about working out as of Christmas Day 2006 and have only missed one Christmas Day workout since then (last year). We open presents and have breakfast done before long noon usually and then don't go to my in-laws (less than 10 minutes away) until 2 so I have plenty of time to do a workout. Today, I was dead tired from being up the last couple of nights with pain in my dumb foot (again), wrapping presents until late last night, getting up early for work yesterday morning and early for presents this morning but I finally told myself to just do something (I was tired of slug mode too) so I decided to do Huckabee's Cardio workout from Powerfit. I knew it was 20 minutes long and probably wouldn't be high impact or too intense so it sounded just right and it turned out to be all those things. It was creative but not complex and was enjoyable. cues fast so I got a little bit behind at times but overall I liked it. I could also see where you could up the intensity and impact though I was purposely keeping it very low key since I was yawning through it from tiredness, was fully dressed (jeans, turtleneck & Santa sweatshirt) and still dealing with my foot issues. Overall, I'm liking these Powerfit workouts for days like this especially. Quick but make you feel like you did something worthwhile most of the time. I'm off work all next week and the kids are out of school so it will be a real challenge to keep to my workouts going (out of my routine = out of my workout mode too). These Powerfits might be just what I need! I know we'll be hitting the gym to use the pool a lot (our last week with the free pass) so that might help too. Gotta plan next week's workouts in a bit and will keep these in mind.
Guest guest
Really awesome about the weight loss, . It sounds like you done a lot better with your holiday eating then I did. I'm still mad at myself. I'll be off my routine as well this next week. My family is off work and school. I'm happy about it because I don't have to get up at 5 am. That means everything to me. Good for you for getting that workout in. Guest guest
Great control on eating through the holidays! I've been able to maintain through the last few days, and hope to pick up losing this week where I left off. Tomorrow, though, is my family gathering, and next Saturday is with my in-laws (at our house!!) The most stressful part for me -- driving my parents 2 hrs one way to visit my sister -- is over. :-) Indyrose > > Merry Christmas to all! Guest guest
We've got at least one, maybe 2 more challenges sometime later this week probably (dinner with my dad & step-mother and a get together with my best friend and her kids). They aren't super stressful, just lots of good food! Plus, my in-laws are bringing homemade cookies & candy over tomorrow, their special gifts to everyone. Ugh. I'll give them some of mine in return!! We'll see how the rest of the week goes. So far so good enough but far from perfect. Re: Merry Christmas workout Great control on eating through the holidays! Guest guest
Hi nancy, Great job on your workout. I like the PowerFits for those reasons, and you can up it a bit by using larger motions, weighted gloves and a step!Donna Subject: Merry Christmas workoutTo: exercisevideos Date: Sunday, December 25, 2011, 8:04 PM Merry Christmas to all! Guest guest
I can't take all the credit, I think I read about that on VF or maybe even here!!! It works well. I even do the band workouts w/ the weighted gloves to make it more challenging.
