Well for those of you who haven't already guessed, I am an addict (to

the above). I'm loving the new at Home show, drooling all over

myself as he makes such delicious simple food and last night also

watched my taped Food Safari from Wednesday night which was on Lebanese

cuisine and I am dying to have some of this, immediately. Can anyone

recommend a good restaurant or two in Sydney - perhaps it might be a

good venue for a Sydband lunch as well. I'm also thinking I need to

sign up and do Maeve O'mara's Lebanese gourmet food safari. Did the

Turkish one last year and loved it and the Italian one was fab too. Oh

bugger having 0.5ml out on Tuesday has got my taste buds going mental

again - I can and want to eat ......

Cheers

Cherie I just love Lebanese and Greek food. A Lebanese restaurant for a

Sydband dinner sounds darn good to me. Maybe we will just have to go to

a few to try them so that our poor members don't go to one that isn't good.

The Lebanese food tour sounds great you will have to let me know more

about this.

cheers

Mazz I just booked the Lebanese gourmet safari after my post as a

b/day pres to myself as it falls on the day in March and called my

friend who did the last one with me so she is coming along too. It

involves a big banquet lunch in Punchbowl so if nothing else I will

have a nice restaurant to recommend for a Sydband lunch or dinner.

They know I am banded and will allow me to take a big doggie bag so I

can take my meal home because by the time I finish about 4 hrs of

taste testing in all the places we visit, I am done. The website is

www.gourmetsafaris.com.au (I think) and I highly recommend these -

this will be my 4th - big junkie that I am.

Cheers

Oh yeah ..... I taped it last night (didn't think about it the week

before - drats) so I can now go back and watch it slowly and right

down the recipes, to be filed and probably never used but that is

also typical of me - I'm a compulsive obsessive recipe collector and

I mean big time, serious problem.....

Cherie,

Sorry cant help you on the

Lebanese front, but have been thinking for a little while about on Indian

night. They do have mildly spiced dishes. (If you have seen Rowan Atkinson’s

Live Sketch of the Indian restaurant, it might make you giggle). This place has

excellent food, and on Tuesday night, if we want to meet during the week, they have

half price mains. Upstairs is a cushion room. I will have to stop writing about

them as I am drooling on the keyboard just thinking about the butter chicken

and fresh Naan bread MMMMMMM.

Interesting what you say about

Maeve O’Mara, one of the Mum’s at the school went to uni with her.

She cant cook, and is scared to eat too much in case she loses her job. It

would be horrible to be scared like that. Lucky she is a good reporter, journo,

and foodie.

Anne which Indian restaurant are you talking about? I went to a

fabulous place in Crows Nest awhile back. I love Indian food too and

have just signed up with 6 others from work to do an Indian cooking

class on the 26th in Rockdale - can't wait for the banquet

afterwards!!!

Anyway I'm about to head out the door so have a good weekend y'all

Cheers

Thanks Anne - sounds wonderful - I'll have to check it out and

perhaps we should organise a Sydband meal there.
