Guest guest
Hi Everyone..Hope everyone survived the holidays. I myself am glad they are over. Have actually been feeling pretty darn good up until the last couple of days. I wasn't achy, tired or weak. But this last couple of days I feel like crap (excuse my french). Anyways I can honestly say that I should not complain because for the last 3 months I have had 87% really good days.Well out of the blue my hep Dr's office called the other day and said they wanted to see me on Feb 3rd and that I needed to get a liver ultrasound by the time I came in. They also wanted to know how much weight have I lost (they wanted me to lose 30-40 lbs). I said I haven't and that I have gained weight. I don't eat much so I believe I am retaining fluids but not like I was before when I had to get drained every 2 weeks. Last time i was drained, they said I had fluids in pockets, fatty pockets and unless I wanted that big long needle stuck in me in different places of my belly (ouch!) I was pretty much out of luck. OK so I wasn't due to see the Hep Dr again til end of April. So now I am thinking whats up? As far as I am concerned or that I know of my blood work has been OK except for my ammonia levels have been running high. I haven't been eating red meat so what else can cause ammonia levels to go up? Also the night before last when I was really feeling bad, my liver hurt really bad. I told my husband and he asked how could I know that it was my liver that was hurting. I wanted to slap him. He shrugged it off and went to sleep . I was in tears most of the night. I drank a ton of water yesterday and a whole bottle of cranberry juice and i feel better today as far as that goes but I ache so bad again. I can't honestly tell you guys how wonderful it has been to not ache for the past month-month and a half, I mean not at all.Anyways, I am glad I am going to the Hep Dr because if you let me refresh your memories, I was denied being put on the transplant list due to financial obligations. Well I believe I told you all that I found a transplant foundation that will help me with fundraising (although you have to have so many things to be approved) and the one big thing with that is BEING ON THE LIST !! So who knows maybe they will say yes although my MELD has gone down to a 6.Besides all of that, it has been very cold (for here in southern Nevada, near Las vegas). As much as that I am not used to the cold it has been nice because we actually got another season this year. Whoo hoo!!!My youngest son, 16 is done playing football for the year and won Nevada State and Division Return Specialist of the Year. Got 6 awards. (PROUD mom here). We are now doing basketball which is probably his worst sport but is still great at it. Fell in love (the first love) HARD with a girl who he has liked for a year now and also is Captain of the Cheerleading Squad. AAAGH!!!!!My 18 year old senior in high school son is doing well and still is dating the same girl he has for four years. He is really into cars and dirt bikes. My husband, well what can I say. He still is in what I call denial of me being really sick. Doable or should I say what else is new. He has a hobby shop that he builds RC electric airplanes and has become a computer and NEWS nerd for the past year and a half, oh I guess its 2 1/2 years now. (since he has retired) My how time flies. My dog, Tyson says its cold outside although he has a heat lamp in his dog house, my cat Pirate has gained alot of weight lately. I think she is trying to copy me.LOL and my wild cats don't care as long as I keep a warm blanket over their house outside and they get food and water.OK so I checked in and I will try to write more often. I read the emails at least every couple days though.Well I hope everyone is feeling as good as can be expected and that we all have healthier year. Talk to you all soon !!The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor.
