Guest guest
I skipped my workout Monday, first time skipping one in 2 months too, but I was just exhausted from a very emotional (good stuff) weekend, the kids had the day off from school (marking period break) so I slept in. I'd intended to get something in later but we all know how that goes! Anyway, I had lower body down for Monday so I just combined upper (today's plan) with lower and did the Upper & Lower Body premix off Cathe's Boot Camp workout. I've done the full version of Boot Camp once but didn't have any clue how the premix would go. There was no warmup or cool down so I had to choose those separately and then had to hit pause a lot to write down weights and especially watch a couple of reps to see what the exercise was so I could find the right weights (then I had to go back to the beginning of the exercise to start with Cathe). So... my 24 minute workout ended up being 42! (about 10 minutes for the w/u & c/d and more for the other stuff). She rarely (in this premix anyway) announced what was coming next. You'd often see a screen that would say "Lower Body" and something like "pause if you need it" but then she'd be right into whatever was coming next. My worksheet didn't help much either because for some of the lower body she'd throw in some of the kickboxing kicks which I associate with cardio. Some day, especially if I intend to do this much (it was fine, but I don't usually do workouts like this), I'd rewrite the worksheet with just the exercises on the premix. That would be useful for the others too but only if I use them much, we'll see. Anyway, I worked really hard. I think there was more lower body than upper in this workout, maybe because there weren't any screens that said "Upper Body" but my legs feel it much more right now too. It was a good workout overall though.
